Mine Kawakami - can Japanese members help me please.

I never thought sitting eating my breakfast today that I would encounter a pianist that would effect me so profoundly - Mine Kawakami.

Checking her out online I found that much of her music is only available for downloading but then I got lucky and found - CD Japan.

Can any Japanese members direct me to a Japanese site dealing in s/hand CDs. There's nothing showing on sites outside of Japan. I'd like to buy quite a few of her CDs, so mint second hand would save me a lot of money - appreciate any help.

I can recommend the Aramex Global Shopper method. CDJapan sends your order to the local Aramex facility, and this is then forwarded to you. Try and place a single order with all the CDs in one parcel. Aramex treats each parcel as a unique entity. They don't hold and consolidate numerous parcels from different places into one. Here's an example of the delivery address in Tokyo. You will have your own unique PRY number.

And then there's a 20% EU import tax that is levied on the shipping cost as well as the imported product as well.

Ideally I'd like to know some i/net sites to buy s/hand. I saw one of Mine's CDs on Amazon.com (USA) that was over $79. and another that was a reasonable price but shipping was over $25 - for a double CD!

I used to buy a lot from the USA but the stupid cost of airmail is now a sick joke. I don't need things yesterday, I'd be happy to have things delivered by ship like commercial companies do.

Even mail from the UK to France comes by plane, totally insane. Try posting to Oz or NZ from France - it's 3 x the price form NZ to France, killing small businesses just like Covid - great for Amazon.

Same in the EU. how often have I got an American friend to buy for me and take a chance with repackaging avoiding paying the 20% EU import tax but this is levied on the shipping cost as well.

Eg. my friend bought a Hakko (Japanese made) soldering station for me @ $100, the price for the same in Spain (when I was living there) was the equivalent of $250.

An AT33EV cartridge @$300 (the rate at that time was £1=$1.70) the best price in the EU was a UK seller @ £452/$768, again a product made in Japan.

With a download you have nothing to sell on, if you want to. Bruce Willis spent over $90K in downloads and went to court only to find out he had paid not to buy something but only to use it, effectively renting.

When I create a digital copy of my LPs mostly bought for silly money at the end of the 80s and audiophile vinyl bought in the 90s I will sell my rock, reggae, jazz and some highly sought after classical, the rest of the classical will have to go to recycling which is crazy because the classical vinyl was the best (virgin) unlike a lot of the rock and reggae LPs.

These high prices do nothing for efficiency in Scandinavia/Europe, not to mention the high cost of posting and all because most post goes by air which is environmentally negative when it should be going by train but the power of the motor lobby across Europe is massive.
