Parts identification

Hi All and thank you for letting me join.
I’m very new to tube amps but I know about
Modern Electronics and I think I should be ok,
I’m aware of working with the high voltages and safe isolation.
Would anybody have any ideas as what these 2 parts are
they are in an amp I bought with a rats nest wiring inside
the soldering was done by a 2 year old watching television.
It also comes with no wiring diagram so having to reverse eng to
try and make a schematic I can then follow and understand.

Hi all
Thank you for all the replies.
I have attached 4 pics, hopefully you should be able to see them now, 984BEE30-BEAD-4C5C-8135-EBBF120DDD2A.jpg

Thanks for looking

Probably an audio line-level transformer in the can. That's how they used to mount them.
The first pic is some power resistors.

Well that confirms it somebody made this up out of his junk box , the red valve ( tube ) is a Mullard radio valve as well as the other one is typical radio of late 30,s up to late 40,s .

The parts range through the 50,s onward s and the steel enclosed coil looks straight out a WW2 transmitter used as a microphone impedance convertor , the small modern preset is out of place in this build as is the "X" rated capacitor , I have never come across such a diverse collection of parts from different ages .

Hi and again thanks to all
I think Duncan2 might be on the right track as this seems to control the microphone input which has been an add on to this Pandora’s box.
The assortment of mishmash components will all be replaced with the correct ones. The X rated cap is all cracked somehow.
Could I strip this out altogether, back to the guitar jack socket.,removing the dead wood,
The resistor in the first pic has 4 wires coming out of it. 2 seem to have balls on the ends? I’ve never seen one like this and there’s 3 more.
I’ve never built a valve amp and looking forward to making a nice mellow 15/20 watt guitar amp out of this

Hi ray a
You asked what equipment I have
Multimeter, capacitor tester, 300v 8a variable transformer, 30vac/ dc 10a power supply,
Oscilloscope, signal generator. Continuity tester ( home made, as we do ) as I mend old TVs, radios and home appliances. but no valves unfortunately
Do I need anything else for building valve amps
Cheers lee
