Do i need filters for Visaton FRS 8M ?

Hello,

This is my first project, it consist in using a board with:
- TPA3116 D2 -> High Efficiency TPA3116 D2 Dual Channel 50Wx2 Amplifier Module DC 4.5 27V Digital Power 2 Channel Stereo Amplifier Board|Integrated Circuits| - AliExpress
- two Visaton FRS 8M 3.3 inch drivers
- 3d printed internal labyrinth with wood sides

As far as i understand, i need a power supply of 19V @ 3-4 A, or something like that.

Question: my drivers are full range-ish, but if i look at their output curve, the low-end stars from around 90 Hz, so using my logic, it would be useful ( and good ) to use a high-pass filter to cut-off anything below 90 Hz ? Or something like that.

So, what filter(s) do i need ?

PSU is fine but you won't quite get all the power (negligible, really).

No, you don't need a high-pass filter or is unlikely but without measurements, pictures and the design it's hard to definitively say.

You may, however, need a baffle step compensation circuit. Probably best to post some info on the full range section 🙂

I have those drivers in a ported box and they have good bass (for a 3 inch) so the high pass filter (if needed) would be to allow another driver to handle the bass. Where you may need a filter is to tame the upper response and like graham said compensate for the baffle step loss.
