I have a 12” custom cherry tonearm designed around a Graco wood tonearms. The enclosed instructions indicate that it is a 9” arm. I measure 12 1/2” ( minus 1/2” for the overhang. The guy that made this arm has gone out of business. I don’t know how to mount a cartridge. There should be a mounting plate with two slots to mount the cartridge. The dimension from the tip of the head to the center of the top 1/4” hole is 1 1/2”. The thickness of the tonearm is 1/4” and the cutout where the plate is 1/8”. Any suggestions on how to make a mounting plate?
Yeah, photos. The maple wood Grado arm I have has a plastic mounting plate that is held to the arm by a single screw. Not the best system ever devised.
It does allow for easy swap of carts, but I had to fiddle with it to get it to sit securely. I could see a better engineered version working well, plastic, metal or maybe even wood.

You do have the mounting information, pivot to spindle distance of 8 1/2" (216mm),
so first make sure the arm base center is mounted at that distance.
The alignment protractor that you have will only work if the stylus tip is at the right distance
from the horizontal bearing (or else has the right overhang).
The offset angle will also have to be determined. Can you post a better copy of the instructions?
The cartridge plate should best have a sharp line down the center for setting the offset angle.
