Hi,
Is there a way to use the analogue inputs on the DScope to record into an editing package such as Audicity / Reaper etc?
It's not been seeing a lot of use at the workshop, as we have other AAs from R+S, AP etc. I was thinking that were the DScope to work well as a soundcard, it could be useful to have in the home system - enabling one box to record, as well as run health checks on the home setup.
Thanks in advance.

Just how hard would it be for someone to write a piece of code that enables the DScope to work as a soundcard?
Anyone?

USB has a number of standard “profiles”, some such as the audio profile are well documented whereas data pipeline houses the setup but not the proprietary control messages.
Two options really:
1. USB audio profile - the device would have to support the USB audio standard and therefore it would simply become a sound card/microphone.
2. Use the existing VB links and code a sound driver on Windows to use the script links perhaps?
Some USB devices download firmware on connection into the device - Cypress USB chips did this quite a bit. So without having the device operational and a USB analyser running it’s difficult to say.
That is assuming the existing software support doesn’t provide sound driver support for Windows.
IIRC the dScope can be used to analyze soundcards, so some of the functionality must be there.
Maybe talk to tech support at Prism (or whatever the measurement branch name is these days).

Thank you!

IIRC, the DScope does this. I seem to remember that there's a pop-up box telling you it's installing a driver, upon first connection to a new machine.
Something I just thought: the DScope has a fairly loud fan... Maybe it's quite easy to configure for home record / play duties, but no one's bothered for that reason...
