I don't think I'll be getting one soon, but I think this two channel thing might catch on. 😉

Cool thread! My good friend Leo who is in his 80s was an audiophile during the transition from mono to stereo. The Cook 'two headed snake' dual groove system predated the release of the 45 degree system we currently use to get stereo into one groove. For years Leo has told the story of when this showed up at the local Hi-Fi shop and they gathered to hear some of the first stereo reproduction. With each channel getting its own groove apparently when working it sounded very good, for the day. One of the popular demo disks was a recording of a steam engine locomotive chugging left to right through the sound stage. The obvious flaw of the system was getting both cartridges cued into the right groove. Hit it and perfect stereo. Be off by one groove on one of the tracks and listen to the funkiest phase weirdness’ ever.
