Cyrus one repair

An old topic, I know, but what are people using to replace the buv28 transistors when repairing their amps? I've been reading articles and forum chat for a few weeks now.
I assume most, if not all on eBay might be fakes? I know there's been lots of suggestions for alternatives but most failing in one way or another to live up to the spec. of the originals. I wonder what the specialist repairers are using?
Had anyone got the definitive answer?

The spec of the original is as a switching BJT which can be used in audio

I didn't know it was a popular choice as I have not come across many with them as output devices .

So I presume you are looking for a high speed switching type replacement ?

I've seen reference to the following:-

BUT76, BUT76a, NTE379 and MJE3055T.
At this stage I've only gone from what I've already seen referred to in the context of Cyrus one repair. I've tried to compare the data sheets where possible but I'm worried I'll choose the wing one and I'm hoping a cyrus expert will be able to help.
Thanks in advance.

cyrus 1 output transistor question. push-pull?

With the thanks of the above link and special thanks to Mooly, I was able to find the items I required. The items are in stock at cpc-farnell:-

Mje3055t...sc06752
Bd139........sc09455
Bd140........sc08795
Insulator....sc10698
(thermal insulator pad 1mm thick) looks ok but not 100%

I hope this is of help to all those with Cyrus one amps in need of attention. Please double check these parts and numbers before ordering just in case I have made an error.
