The subs will be used with my home system, strictly for music.

I've settled on the size and type, I'm looking at 10-12 inch drivers in a sealed enclosure. Right now, my leading contender is the Scan-Speak 28w-4878. I haven't ruled out other options.

I like the idea of building the enclosures as passive units with either a 2-channel amp or a pair of mono amps in my rack. My only reasoning is that it cleans up the wiring by only having to run speaker leads rather than signal, power, and possibly trigger.

I haven't ruled out building plate amps into the enclosures and dealing with the wires. If that's the best choice, that's the route I will take.

CSS SDX10/12 also work well sealed. SDX10 is my favorite LLF transducer (at least for reasonable money). And they come from Michigan.

2 smaller woofers push-push have huge advantages when it comes to making a silent box that doesn’t walk about. In an ideal world, that means 4 woofers.

I have a couple box designs, but i need to rework them (not the design, it works REALLY well, but the execution of the drawing).
