Advice on what to match with a 15" woofer

Hi all,
I found in the basement a RCF L17/64AF (15 inch) speaker, and it triggered me to try & build my own speaker set. As I'm an absolute beginner and I'm here to get some advice.

- What other speakers should I match with the RCF I already have? (tweeters etc)

- Should I try to get another RCF box to have everything in twofold, or can I look for a similar woofer as the RCF for the matching box? If so, any advice on which one?
- I'm a guitarist. Should I better make a guitar amp out of the RCF I have?

Sorry for this absolute beginner questions. :umbrella: I really want to learn! :wave2:
All best and many thanks,

Some thoughts:

- The metal dustcap will likely give a very "zingy" kHz range - best avoided IMO.
- These drivers appear to be quite rare, and might be worth a bit of money to the right person. It does mean you'll struggle to get another driver the same.
- I'd recommend reading everything of interest from Rod Elliott's articles. Excellent resource.

If it was mine and I wanted a quick-and-easy project, I'd look around online for a high-efficiency wide-range driver in the 6" range. Use a simple crossover in the 4-800Hz range, and you'll have something that'll be efficient and get loud easily.
Whether it'll sound much good will be another matter entirely. I'd go for the biggest sealed box you can accommodate for the woofer - sealed boxes make it easy to get half-decent results.

Greets!

It appears to be a bass guitar amp driver, so pretty limited options beyond coating the dust cap with felt or similar for [mid] bass apps and with published specs requiring an otherwise large cab, probably best to go open baffle [OB] combined with Chris's option or a HF compression horn XO'd in the 500 - 1200 Hz range.

Need to pick through this to find most of its specs: https://en.toutlehautparleur.com/media/catalog/product/datasheet/rcf/RCFOldWoofers.pdf
