Choosing between 3 Troels Gravesen 3way project
1) SBA 761
2) ScanSpeak Discovery 861
3) Jenzen SEAS ER
Plan to use this acoustic for a long time. Medium size room. Music(any genre), movies.
1) SBA 761 (TW29RN-B-8 MW16P-8 MW19P-8)
most advanced speaker technology (satori). What about reliability?
2) ScanSpeak Discovery 861 (D2608/913000 18W/8434G00 22W/8534G00)
newest project. cheapest. will it have the same performance as satori, or be worse?
3) Jenzen SEAS ER (CA26RFX, ER18RNX T25C003)
old project. biggest size. how it would perform compare to others?

They will all sound wonderful.
Is the woodworking more difficult on one than the other? Will that pose a problem to you? If so, take that into consideration, as it would be a shame to have the expensive kit and no box to put them into.
Is one of these speakers more interesting to you? (I’m sure one of them is...) That is honestly the project you should choose.

I have the Discovery 8-6-1 in hand, and waiting on wood panels to arrive now to start the build. Hopefully by the first of the year.
Hi,
The Seas and Satori imho perform better on the drivers spec and should have (at least the Satori) a better low end that matters for movies... But if you're a fan of movies you definitly needs a Sub with main speakers made of 6" inches woofs.
A 3 Way classic deserves also a look cause the bigger woofer.
Edit: sorry, have mised the Seas has a bigger woofer, in your shoes I will rate like that : 1) Seas kit, 2) Satori Kit, 3) ScanSpeak kit... related to your wisched items list.
hope that helps.

The discovery has much cheaper drivers but as troels states, they play very well. Those drivers were originally made by vifa (I don't remember the exact model, but I am sure)
I recently tried to compare a 2.5way (such as the 1.and 2.) with a 3way and the midrange was much clearer on the 3way while the 2.5way had more low end. I liked the 3way and gets my vote.
So in my humble opinion you should consider sba 741 (3way, troels states that along with the subwoofer module, it stands aming his best speakers) and some of the 3way classic designs(seas? Faital? Scanspeak?)
