RIP Alex Trebek

I have been wondering who his replacement will be for the show for quite a while.

I think it would be a good time to refresh the program with some structural changes, like less reliance on the Daily Double for momentum/wins. The game should be almost completely about who knows the most about the questions, not who was lucky enough to land on the DDs.

The categories are also repeated too often. There should be a lot more variety in the questions asked. I would also remove the first row (the one with the very low cash values) and add a bottom row with much higher cash values but much more difficult questions. That is a more interesting form of randomness (who knows which quite obscure thing) than the heavy reliance on the Daily Double. Perhaps the DD should instead be a second question that the person can get right and not lose money if they get it wrong?

Also, please get rid of all of the Hollywood movie quotes. Knowing those is not evidence of intellectual prowess. It's evidence that a person spent too much of their time on fluff.

I would also be happy to see the "answer in the form of a question" replaced with answering with the answer. I've always found the mechanic stilted and irksome.

Jeopardy has had enough years of the same formula. A new host and a refreshed format would be a welcome change. It honors Trebek's legacy to change the format, too — instead of blithely substituting him with someone else.

Having not had a TV (or monitor streaming stuff) for the last 20 years, I fondly remember watching 1) the Frugal Gourmet 2) Jeopardy, and 3) Wheel of Fortune with my Granny back in the 80s in rural Oklahoma. Alex Trebek, RIP and thanks for the good times before the world turned to crap.

Basically you don't want Jeopardy to be Jeopardy any more?
I would like Jeopardy to have a few changes from its current format.

Parker Brothers just added another row of streets for Monopoly. Magic: The Gathering has adjusted its rules a lot over the years. The rules for D&D (and other aspects of it) have changed quite a bit over time, too.

Not everything is static and not every change means a completely different product. Jeopardy used to cap the winners to 6 wins in a row before that rule changed. That was a huge change. The original rule, which was present for a very long time, prevented some players from having the opportunity of doing what Jennings did, including Brad.

I will say, though, that some franchises have changed so much they don't really fit their name anymore, as with JJ Abrams' "Star Trek".
