What connectors could these be?

My daughter brought those funny wires from a visit in the transportation-museum in Lucerne. They‘re really nice.
What kind of connectors are they?

They look a bit like Litton VEAM connector pins.

They are usually inside multy way connectors.

Not yet.
I just verified the brand/type, seems to be correct, but haven’t chased them down. I‘ll try this evening.
(I have to say that as nifty they look and feel, they‘re not locking...

The audio connectors are used by the UK military and DERA .


ITTCannon are another US conglomerate having bought UK electronic industry- Thorn-EMI .

Actually haven't found exactly those, but mill-max has a promising alternative...

But mouser for one doesn't seem to have them onboard 🙁

Sorry but no idea.

Company I used to work for used them to power lighting rigs so each connector takes at least 1kW safely.
I assume they bought them directly from the manufacturer since they had bags of a thousand each in the stores.
And Duncan is right the military used them so the chassis came in a fetching grade of camo green. The only other thing I know is that back then (late '80s) the pins cost £1 each but were solid silver. Interference fit so contacts got wiped clean every time you plug them in. Very reliable.

There aren't just the pins of those multi-plugs to be found. For an extensive search, I guess I'd have to get in touch with ITT or whom ever. I found some possible, similar parts (all solder-variants, crimp should be in the bag too) at farnell and digikey
...
