Hello I am new to this forum looking for help with my receiver. It's a sony str-av210. When I try to set a preset it will set. However if I turn the unit off for more then 10 seconds they reset back to the default. Any idea what could be causing this?
Yeah I pulled the cover off and I didn't see any noticeably damaged capacitors. I was wondering if anyone had a service diagram for it.
It won't look bad, but it is a special type of capacitor to store enough charge to retain the settings.

The preset channels are held by an internal capacitor....
Appears to be a Lithium battery, BAT301 on the Display Board. CR-2025 is a super-common type.
Manual is from 1989. If the battery is near 30 years old, it is due for replacement.
The PCB layout looks like solder-in while a 2025 is not normally supplied with solder legs. Is there maybe an actual battery holder?? So this job is easier than a watch battery? (Not as teeny)
