When i power the amp up this resistor starts smoking. If i pull the driver card it doesn't happen. Ive replaced all the transistors and the irs21844s chips.

Do you see excessive high frequency noise on the resistor (like an output filter capacitor is shorted)?

Is it in series with C82?

Yes it is in series with c82

Isn't your scope ground already connected to the 12v PS ground?

Yes but my scope-meter took a ****. I'm just not use to not having a floating ground and I'm too scared to attach the lead off the probe to anywhere on the board cuz i don't know where its safe and don't know when its necessary so I just ask.

If the scope chassis ground and the 12v PS ground are connected, you don't need to connect the probe ground to anything for most tests.

I've got my handheld working again. Ill recheck with that.

Jumps as high as 90khz but settles at around 25khz

1-2mv across that 10(?) ohm resistor isn't enough to make it smoke.

I didnt know u meant across it. A short pulse gave it 56v

should i lift a leg and measure at the pads

That sounds like you have a shorted inductor. Try twisting them while measuring the voltage as you did when you read 56v to see if the voltage changes/drops.
