This little guy was built from a reader's digest portable record player. I salvaged what I could and i used some spare capacitors/parts to complete the circuit. (Single ended Dave gillsepie design)
I probably have about 10 dollars into it.
It's built for better output transformers, but I need to save up for those.

Tough cookie 🙂 That red wire junction in the last picture is a little messy, you might want to clean it up a little. Heaters probably? 1.5A does not need thick wiring.
Is the knob (ferrite ring?) with the copper windings the volume knob? Looks kind a cool, like an inlet of a car from the fifties.
I would mount that big power resistor to the aluminum top plate.

Perhaps the 820 ohm power resistor was just one of those 'spare parts' that redride27 had to hand, and it didn't require heatsinking.
Yep, looks good! Only thing I would say is please invest in some heatshrink tube. Electrical tape never seems to look good!
