A bass amp kit that I am looking at building specs 630V film caps of various values NOT in the power supply (PS caps are 450V). Some of the cap brands that I would like to use only have the required values in 600V rating. Is the difference significant or crucial?
Some film caps have both AC and DC voltage ratings, some parts I have used had the same DC rating but different AC ratings (in a bad way!), 30V shouldn't make a difference, but just make sure all the specifications are good.
Also, if your power supply cap voltages are only 450v, does that mean your power supply is less than 450v? If so, your 600v caps sure will not be stressed
Thanks.
Don´t you have a schematic available?
Layouts are great for assembly, but a schematic lets you *understand* the circuit.
Here it is:
