Hi Guys,
Though logic tells me it's not good but would like to seek for opinions pls.
I've this JBL 2432H which is 1.5 inch & I wish to test it out on an Dayton 12 inch conical Horn which is 1 inch throat. So is it a bad idea to go from 1.5 down to 1 inch adaptor ?
Thanks

Yes it is a bad idea to go from 1.5 down to 1 inch adapter, the reduction will cause reflections back to the driver throat/phase plug, which will then recombine causing peaks and dips in the response, the net result being poor sound and reduced level.
If you want to use the horn with the JBL 2432H it would be better to cut it off at a the point where it is slightly less than 1.5" internal diameter, epoxy on a mounting flange, then using a half- round file match the curve to the 2432H exit angle and diameter.

I couldn't find much on the 2432H other than it's a 3" diaphragm 1.5" exit driver used in a variety of JBL cabinets with a variety of horns..
