Hi friends!
Has anyone experience on these tweeters? I've seen many designers using tw29r but almost none using the tw29d. Is the tw29r in some way better?

It's been out about 4 yours longer. 😉 The ring-dome is also arguably a little more linear. Arguably -depends to a point on model & what you're focusing on.
I just looked at them, they're very similar. The D is slightly narrower in the top end, the R has slightly less variation around 10k, the D is better behaved between 10-15k.
I have worked with both 2-3 years ago, I did not have direct side to side comparison, but I recall them having very similar sound signature. That "DN" lifted top end required just mild suppression, if any. That lifted top end is not sonically on "too much side" or aggressive. Both have calm relaxed sound and are easy to work with.
I know it is probably sb29rdc vs sb29sdac, but never heard sb29sdac. I know that Jeff bagby used a lot sb29sdac and sb26stac(close to sb29sdac) but used tw29r on his kairos/adelphos designs.
Debating the same thing sb29sdac or sb29rdc, plus Scan HDS. But in my case the front baffle is at 10deg. I just don't have that much luck crossing 29RDNC below 2k (almost perfect LR24 2.2k) and for some reason the two units sound different, yet FR is almost identical - could be some sort of distortions products, maybe resonance.
Has anyone heard HDS tweeter in comparison with SB offerings?

According to the users from a forum from Poland, hds is better than sdac/rdc. Never had the pleasure to listen to it, but always is in my shortlist.
I went through the comments from Pogromca, LuSZti, Borys, Yoshi and others before - could have build ready project, eventually readjust it to my liking.
I will try to look for HD IMD distortions. Designer of Elsinore project measured the HDS: harmonic dist look OK, but IMDs at 1k and 2k look so-so, maybe that's why some people complain it can sound on the harsh side. At 4k and up HDS it very good. I will dig up some more to compare: yeah, I should check Zaphs Tweeter mishmash and blog. Maybe SB26ADC - didn't hear alu tweeter for a while (the old ones weren't particularly forgiving) and people rated it very highly. The only downside is rather low efficiency.
Vassilis, I think you would have to hear the Satoris side by side to make meaningful decision - supposedly pinned dome are less chaotic and more like metal domes - sound 'has more air', but I couldn't find comments based on direct comparison. Some say that Neodymium version should have additional advantage, as neodymium lowers Eddie currents, on top of Satoris T- pole motor. I have to ask my friend to do some motor simulations, if the simulator can differentiate such details. I like the choice of 8ohm voice coils in Satoris, as they might be easier to filter depending on topology and keep impedance 'amplifier friendly' (why SB didn't settle on 6ohm for their budget version?, whatever).
Powodzenia w 'polowaniu za brzmieniem' 😉
Vasisilis, maybe read this one
ZAP SATORI - WO24P-8 + MW16P-4 +TW29BN DN RN - by Zap Projekt
So according to designer regular D dome has more top end and lighter sound, R more even, no top brightness, as the measurements suggest. If I could blow the money, it would be Be. I heard Radian Be in horns - easy on ears w/o fake detail (IMDs, or 3rd HD).

Thanks pawel!
I've read almost everything on the polish site. I will probably go for the satori ring ND. Not convinced 100% that is better and deserves the extra coin, but will give me the piece of mind. If I go for the hds, I will probably dig it again in a couple of months.
About the hds, I've seen what you are talking about the distortion plots. Troels usually crossing the hds tweeter higher than the satori.
About the sb26adc, I've never heard a hard cone tweeter and liked it, but people praising it.
