I own two attenuators which both display volume with 7 segment displays. I use Salas I-Select for source selection but I thought that it would mate great if there was a 11 segment (7 is insufficient for letters) for source. Anyone know such a project ?
My previous McIntosh preamp along with my friend's BAT preamp have such a feature.

7 is "almost sufficient" if the vocabulary is small enough to learn some funny letter shapes.
7-segment letters - Google Search
Letter-oriented displays were often 14 segment.
Fourteen-segment display - Wikipedia
Last year I know 7-segment was down to odd-lots; OK for one project but not for an ongoing product. 11 and 14 must be even more hit-or-miss today.
And there is the cheat. Instead of phono tuner tape CD, put 1 2 3 4 on your sources.

Of course it could be 14 segment, whatever works best. With 7 segment a word must have mixed, uppercase and lowercase, letters to be readable.
I wanted to know of any implementation, also outside audio. If I was into arduino I would have probably witness a solution that could be used along with I-Select. It's not that complicated me thinks and applies to many attenuators with only volume display.
I only wanted to know if anybody have seen something that could be used for this, I haven't seen anything for this exact purpose (audio source)
