Ask for free replacement, simple.
I waited a long time to try it but not too long so fortunately, I'm still within the year warranty on it. I sent the hifimediy an email with a link to the video.
I was just curious if this was one of those things where "that is just how they work"

No, its is silent.
I will post later a picture of how the transformers look like in a well designed SMPS, with genuine components.
What is the voltage for that SMPS?
The answer I received is they do make that noise under very light loads and I'm guessing at low volumes my little TDA7293 is a pretty light load. The other suggestion was to try the voltage adjustment at different settings. With it cranked all the way over past where I thought was the end of the travel it stopped, for now, making noise.
cresnet, where is that one from? I went with this one after seeing that Tom Christiansen used it in one of his amps that went for something like $1300.

That's my SMPS, I don't have any noise there, however, I will put a light load on Saturday and see if I have noise or not, but as I remember there was no noise at all as that was an SMPS I made a year ago, I have to check my lab tests.
Yes, it is true that Tom is using it into all of his amplifiers as there is no replacement for them, but soon I will supply the replacements.
Also, that SMPS provides
1- Standby switch, no need for mechanical switches to turn ON / OFF the SMPS.
2- Auxilary supply with 12V output
3- DC Error input
if you disconnect your amplifier, you still hear the noise?
I will come back to you soon with results.

A test was made today loading the SMPS with 100 OHM resistor drawing around 330mA and drawing 660mA in another test.
NO noise was there at all, it was deadly silent.
I think 330mA is a light load.
