have to sell some nice alnico 807 w. Symbiotik - pictures of the diaphragms may help but am leery removal * of the cap may cause the coil to rub in the gap. Do 806/807 self align well or do they require low level sine and RTA for proper alignment? (* FWIW Ebay sellers do this all the time}
If I were you, I would just use a meter and test it that way and show a photo of what the resistance/ohms is of it. You run the risk of damaging the coil once you put it back in. And if it’s a coil that is liquid called when you have a problem to where you need to put new fluid in it. I don’t know if these have it,but you never know and also you run the risk of breaking the gasket.
already got pix of meter with each 807 - both 6.4 ohm. - think these are early 1960's Altec

Don't see why not, there's no fluid in the gap and the driver has two tight fitting diaphragm location pins which in many folk's experience is so tight that removing it can be 'intense' if only wanting to clean the gap, so no way to do a 'proper' alignment unless either the alignment holes in the diaphragm are hogged out or it's a poor quality spec aftermarket one; just back out the mounting screws a little at first to work the cap loose, then a some more to work it completely loose before removing the screws [notice the large flange overlap]: Altec Lansing Acoustical Loading Cap # 23370 PAIR!! | #159479807
