Music Fidelity wall wart

Its likely a conventional transformer + rectifier + smoothing cap generating a raw 15-18V DC, followed by a relatively simple 3- terminal, 12V regulator circuit, in order to get lowest ripple and line noise. Any supply with a long, unshielded connecting lead is not going to be very quiet so it won't be exceptional as far as power supplies go. The n'th degree of filtering would have to be in the preamp box itself.

OK So using a standard small 12V wall wart and using that as a basis
What amperage would I need? I'm not at all good with electronics apart from passive XOs
All my wall warts are AC but I should have a range of wattages to use as donors
