PPI PCX440

Anyone know the value of these resistors ?

They are all discolored and are way out of tolorance .

And know why they may have burned ?

The first band rarely discolors.

If they are part of the Zobel network, I'd guess that they are 4.7 ohms. PPI generally used 2.2 ohms in their early amps but this looks more chiese/Koean than original PPI. The Asian amps use 4.7 ohms, commonly.

Abuse or possibly the amp was oscillating for some reason.

It’s a 4.7 ohm 5% tolorance .

For testing purposes can I use a 5.6 ohm in the location to see if the map has anymore issues and still be close to the original tolorance ?

Only asking this since he said the amp had terrible feedback .

I don’t have the correct value on hand at the moment and only wanna use the 5.6 for testing or wouldn’t this work ?

'feedback'? He may have meant that the amp was oscillating. This could be due to an open shield ground.

The resistor isn't that critical but if there are minor problems with the 5.6, you won't know for certain whether it's the resistor or another problem. You don't have to have the same wattage for testing. Use a 1/4w if you have them, for testing. Order the right value.
