Hi
Does anyone know the difference between these drivers?
Seas XM001-04 (L26ROY) - http://www.seas.no/images/stories/extreme/pdf_datasheet/L26ROY-XM001-04_Datasheet_v2.pdf
Seas XM004-04 (L26RO4Y) - http://www.seas.no/images/stories/design/pdf_datasheet/L26RO4Y-XM004-04_Datasheet.pdf
I'll be looking fit 2 in a single enclosure, ported or transmission line. But wouldn't know which one to buy. Will be used as subwoofer only, normal crossover around 60- 80 Hz.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks Inductor , will model both one day to see the difference in response too. Guessing the RO4Y is used for applications where you want the driver to operate higher, maybe as part of 3 way system, where sub is crossed over in the hundreds of Hz ....
Thanks Inductor.
I wonder if the L26ROY is in fact used in the Vivid Audio Giya speakers, they are very expensive loudspeakers.

Sorry for the thread bump but somebody on the Internet was wrong and I was in the neighbourhood.
Seriously, I have seen that idea elsewhere and thought I would set the record straight. No, the Giya woofer is not a Seas design. They share the same type of cone structure, with a folded rim and a ridge where the dust cap joins the cone. Both Seas, Peerless and Scanspeak have used these techniques to stiffen aluminium woofer cones so it is "industry standard" AFAIK. The Giya woofers has a similar but distinctly different basket but above all, an entirely different motor structure. Seas uses a more traditional, albeit highly optimised, magnet assembly with an overhung voice coil while the Giya woofer uses a radial neodymium magnet assembly with an underhung voice coil (reminiscent of the Aurasound woofers of yore).
So there you have it - the world is in order again.
Best,
