I have a small patio (~6*4m) that I would like to build some speakers for. I'm not looking for crazy volume, just something that sounds pretty good.
Do you think a pair of C-notes would work, as pictured? I was thinking I could build them out of plywood and put some mesh in the ports. They would be quite protected under the eaves and I would also be taking them down before winter.
Can you think of any other design/kit that would work better for a similar amount of money?

Not sure what the C-Notes use, but If I was putting something outdoors I would avoid paper cones and foam surrounds and use treated (weather resistant) plywood. Mesh on ports is good call - stop birds nesting, might not stop spiders nesting unless you use foam.
