Hi would there be any issue with having dual 2 inch ports in a speaker enclosure with one placed on the front baffle and the second on the the rear as I’m running out of real estate on the front baffle
Thanks
Thanks
When the distance between front and back starts approaching 1/4 wavelength you will have issues due to time/phase delay of the sound at the rear. Much smaller than that is no problem.
Wavelength calculator here:
Wavelength acoustic sound wave air sound waves frequency calculation temperature wave no air pressure speed of sound - sengpielaudio Sengpiel Berlin
E.g. 40Hz -> 8.58m. As long as the enclosure is much shallower than 2.1m you're free to place ports anywhere on the enclosure.

A few top designers favor front-rear or side-side port placement to create a counter-force arrangement which reduces vibrations.
