Hi everyone,
one of my HS80m's sometimes starts to rustle and then the speaker suddenly becomes much louder on its own than the other speaker.
The problem only occurs from time to time.
Last time wehn I had this problem it went away after 1 hour of trying to find out what's wrong then i just turned up volume on my mixer and it was gone.
Maybe someone has the same problem and could give me some advice.
I thought it could be the mixer so plug them into my soundcard but the issue was still there.
I have checked all the cables, mixer and the audio interface and they work just fine without any problems.

I know this isnt a great help.
Possibly a bad soldered joint on one of the rear panel switches or rotary volume control.
Is it in warranty get it back for repair ?
If out of warranty maybe get a technician to give it a once over, he should know what to look for. You can download a service manual from the internet.
Being mains powered it is only something a qualified person should be looking at.

i bought dem used last week so there is no warranty anymore. The guy i bought from told me that this happens sometime that's why he gave me that one speaker almost for free.
I really can't tell if both drives get louder (I think both of them) but I will check next time when it happens.

Could be a dirty level control or switch on the back.
Are you running them balanced or unbalanced?
