i was able to repair my Pioneer A301 integrated amp after years of slumber. The amp is working fine but when i hook up my Pioneer GR333 equalizer after an hour of music popping sound comes out from my left speaker. My equalizer has some tight sliding knobs of some of the bands which i loossen it with a contact cleaner. I checked the components afters hours of troubleshooting and they are seem to be fine. Does the sliding knobs of the bands has something to do with the popping sound? since they are stucked for a long time? Thank you in advance.
If you do not move the sliding VR, no popping sound comes out
or sliding the VR in some position there is no popping sound comes out
If like this, it must be the sliding VR problem, disassemble the sliding VR to clean or replace a new sliding VR.

Use the EQ within the amplifier's tape loop to verify that it is in fact the EQ which is the problem. (Direct input = no EQ, tape input with rec out set to desired source = EQ.) Otherwise you'd have to fiddle with cables at the Adaptor In/Out to compare EQ in and out, which is also possible but more cumbersome.
Most EQs I've seen have basically been 1-opamp wonders, with a single 4558 and lots of passives. Does wiggling any of the slideers and switches make a difference? TBH popping noises after an hour would seem to suggest a bad solder joint on something that gets warm. Quite possibly one of the inputs or the output pin responsible for the left channel.

Okay ... does this popping only happen when you are manipulating your equalizer's controls?
If if it happens when you are just sitting there listening...
What you need to do is isolate the path the pops happen on...
Take the EQ out of circuit ... does it still happen?
What input are you using when it happens?
Does it do this on other inputs?
Thanks for all the advice mates, The poping sound comes out suddenly say after an hour of audio, i am not touching either the amp tone control nor the equalizer, the poping sound comes out. Byt he way the poping sound comes out only when i hook up the equalizer, With the amp alone it is working normally.
So it's definitely the EQ then. You may have to hunt the culprit down inside the EQ with some freeze spray if you do not see any suspect solder joints.
