Did buy this old 2-way boxes and now tuning them. On the picture you can see a symetric amplifier i have constructed. I play to put this into the box so that they are active. They play better now although they play mostly mids and almost no bass. Thinking about replacing the mid/bass cone.
Also have to think about a new crossover. Currently only one 4uF foil cap is used on the trebles. Not sure if 4uF is what i want. What do you think Galu?

yes but i am not ok with them. the tweeters don't tweet and the bass does not bass.sorry not Galu, question thou... don't those contain Tesla drivers?
read more details (or at least the pictures) here: Reproduktory a reproduktorove sustavy TESLA - Reproduktorove sustavy TESLA - TESLA Litovel - RK 15
could you supply a google translated link?
what's the condition of the cabinet?
and if it's as old as i think, yes the lone crossover cap should be replaced.(going any further with a x-over design would require measurements)
the other thing i would do is inspect the condition of the woofers particularly the surround for cracks, paper that old can be weak and fragile, and spiders can become stiff losing you bass response and overall efficiency. the best x-over in the world isn't going to make a bad driver sound good. i like old drivers and many can be restored and give good service but sometimes time and abuse are just too much to come back from!

i was told that the cap was foil but now when measuring it did read ~4uF but some Mega Ohms too. so yes i will play with it. also i am wondering what inductance i should choose for the mid/bass if i would decide to put a coil there.
the drivers look brand new despite the years.

what's the condition of the cabinets? i'd look for anything that would potentially leak, adding gaskets to back panels and in some "baffle" gaskets ( i've found some Grundig models where the baffles where removable and no gaskets at all, that ok if your after aperiodic tuning) even an application of caulking at corner joints may help.
are you familiar with X-sim?

thanks for the translated link it pretty much confirms my suspicion of the big flaws i've found, cabinet leaks that compromise bass performance.
what is the impedance of these drivers?

well the boxes are leaky per design. the rear wall is unmountable and certailny lets air trough.

my stereo amp is mono. the powersuply and the amp is symetric that is why i need 2x24V (5,6,7 on the schematics) from the PS and not only 1x as you would expect from mono.

minimalism is not bad. i am happy that it plays and did not blow the fuses or did start to smoke. this is my first amp i have build after ~40 years i play with audio.too bad the amp is mono it would have opened the door to bi-amping your speaker!
the new crossover plays like a charm. did underestimate the old Tesla cones.
Butterworth 1st order: 10uF on tweeters and 0.15mH on bass.

it is done. it plays fine in the mids but the 40hz of bass cone and 16khz of tweeters make it usable only for mids. well i guess it was meant more for spoken word. i will play hip hop on it 😉
