Such sad news! But he leaves behind such a wonderful legacy. He will be missed.
My first music concert (aside from symphony performances) was Paul Simon’s Graceland tour in June of 1987. I was 13 and went with my mother. The venue (the now-gone Poplar Creek in Hoffman Estates, Illinois Lisa's Nostalgia Cafe - Poplar Creek Music Theater, Hoffman Estates, IL This place was genuinely magical, I have no idea why it lived such a short life...) was packed (20,000+) the crowd having an incredible time, and the performance wonderful.
When Ladysmith Black Mambazo was on stage the audience knew it was something special, and the respect and love for this group was palpable, it was an incredible feeling.

Radio One Vancouver did a nice tribute to him last week. Like many, my introduction to LBM was Paul Simon but it was obvious from the get-go they were something special.
Same with me, Paul Simon´s Graceland was the introduction of LBM to me. Funny how people (teenager) work: I bought Graceland maybe the first two weeks of it´s release, nobody danced to it on the parties. Two months later, everyone did... Shaka Zulu was the next record. Saw LBM with Paul Simon on the 87 tour and later on their own concerts...
