Hello dear DIY mates!
I recently acquired an early SP120 integrated (not the Mk II), and I wonder if anyone could help me with some issues...
It functions seemingly perfectly, equipped with basic tubes (Raysonic branded -russian- 12AX7 and 6SN7GT-s) and Electro Harmonix KT120-s.
However I've heard about a certain "voltage" issue that can cause problems in the circuitry. I wonder if anyone has any info on this subject, and perhaps some possible areas of improvement beside the usual stuff (coupling cap and tube replacements).
Unfortunatley there is no schematic or service manual available for this model, and as I see the inside it is not really a simple design....
I would appreciate any help concerning this amp.

Hi There, I have the same amp and I am about to send it in to be re socketed.
I can talk to you and answer some of your questions. Much easier if we talk on the phone. I am in Bulington Ontario. Where are you?
Steve.

Minor problem... I live in Hungary 😎
However I am finished with the rebuild, took me two days and some 40 parts. New wiring, improved power supply (ultrafast rectifiers, increased value + bypassed filter caps, choke filtering instead of resistor).
Replaced coupling capacitors (Clarity Cap ESA), cathode and G2 resistors, etc.
In this renewed form this amp sounds just plain fantastic. Incredible drive even at low volumes, absolutely no noise, and a certain naturalness and ease of the sound not experienced too often before. Considering the price I paid for it (equivalent to 500 canadian dollars) one of the best buys of my life. 😉

Hi,
I have one Raysonic SP-120 and it doesn't work, there is no sound.
the tubes are getting warm. the filament has power.
I can see two sockets for ICs but they are empty, does anybody know about what IC are there, if any?
maybe there is no need for an IC?
I would like to fix the amplifier.
is there a schematic diagram available?
thank you.

Hi Alex,
I have a working, but modifird SP-120.
They are actually amazing amps with a few treeks and able to destroy some big names.
I had mine apart to replace all the valve bases with Ceramic/Gold plated Audio note parts.
I took a few photos that might help you. Where do you live? If you are close then help is close.
If not what is your email and I will get the large files to you so you can blow them up.
I live in Burlington, Ontario tvrguy@gmail.com 1.905.208.2574
Would love to talk with you.
When you get is up and running with a few changes you will embarrass a $5,000 amp with it.
