Its been 7 years now that I have been running a 5 channel memphis amp that Perry Babin walked me through the steps and helped me repair it and its still going strong.
I hope you didn't jinx it. Kind of like a race commentator saying how great it's been not to have a full course yellow... and immediately, someone crashes causing a FCY.
I too would like to say thank you to Mr. Babin for all the time and effort that he has put forth to help whoever he can. He has helped me many times directly and indirectly through this forum. I highly recommend his audio repair course for those who are just getting started in audio repair or intermediates like me who want to expand their knowledge.
Thanks again Mr. Babin....

I just wanted to chime in. Perry has been here since the beginning of diyAudio, and carried the car audio section on his shoulders the whole time like a champion. Thank you for your years of service to the do-it-yourself car audio community Perry - well done mate 🙂
Again, no thanks needed. Doing this has made me better at what I do and I've developed better troubleshooting techniques from the experience here.
There were people here before me. I hope there will be people here after I can no longer do it but diy car audio is dying out and amp repair is a dying art. It seems that there is more interest in restoring vintage bakelite cased AM radios.

It’s been years since I bought Perry’s tutorial. There was very little early on about car amplifier repair and also the how these circuits work together. I would not have started into repair without his contributions. He is always available to lend a hand.
I might have him to blame for going out and buying a lot of broken amplifiers. My garage is still full.
Thanks again Perry!

Indeed!
Perry has been the shining gem here for many years, a constant helpful resource. Dependable as daylight and never even asks for as much as a "thank you".

NO LIE!
Huge props for tons and tons of well focused advice surrounding some often complicated power supplies, not to mention the amps themselves...

I have an awful memory. I take down a lot of notes, take a lot of photos and have to refer to them for specifics.
Yes, three cheers for Perry. Thanks to his guide, his amazing support here, I have been able to repair many amps. In doing so have focused on bettering myself and worked towards leaving other bad habits behind with my newfound hobby. Your work here Mr Babin has fixed more than just broken amps, thank you.

I remember spending months on that site. It was one of my Favorite places to go to learn about car audio and audio in general. I never thought that I would have learned so much. In fact, I never could and still can not do Ohms calculations by maths. I use the backward subtract method.
Its hard to believe that after 20 years, its still online. Yes, you have to enable flash, but that is soon going away.
But I don't ever want Perry to go. I get that people get old. And I understand that people pass away. I still don't like it. I'm 41 now. And I sure hope that it will be around when I get older.
Almost all of us young men at one time spent hours reading the site. And we are all better for it.
I spend my time helping others as much as Mr. Babins did for me.

The site works fine with Internet explorer for now and the Flash content will always work well with the old browser Safari 5.1.7 for windows.

I would like to say thank you to Perry as well. Perry is an excellent and patient teacher. Buying Perry’s tutorial was some of the best money I’ve spent in a LONG time. Perry has helped me troubleshoot many issues in a way that makes me a better repair tech. I’ve lost count of how many amps I’ve repaired since starting this journey a couple of years ago but I’d imagine that it’s close to 200 or more. I work every day on amp repair and have done so full time for about a year now. I have found Perry’s advice on running a repair business invaluable. Many gems of knowledge that have helped me along the way.
