Some people have been making this a weekend long affair so we expect some people to arrive Friday and not leave till Sunday.

Tom - planning on bringing any gear this trip? I'd certainly be interested in hearing a 686, and while not a fan of headphones, others might be?
Perhaps I should ask: Is there any interest in headphone gear for this meet?

Of the over dozen pair I've owned in almost 50yrs , my absolute favorite were Micro Seiki MX1, but that's like my affection for white chocolate - nobody really give a rip.
HD414.... Dang. Those were pretty solid back in their day.
I'm not much ahead in that game, though. I still have my HD-580 that I bought in the 90ies and the HD-650 that I bought around 2002. One of these days I should get a pair of phones that match the performance of the HP-1.

By HP-1, do you mean the Yamaha or another HP-1? I still have my HP-1's I bought in college but they need to be rebuilt.
I hope to make it to Vancouver again this year. It's been fun every time.

I have been playing amplifier games this winter and have some old friends and a new friend on the bench right now.

Hi. FYI I copied the web address for this forum post to send someone else this meeting info. Oddly when the link appeared in email, the link title contains a different date for the event than that shown in the first post. It caused a little confusion as my friend took the date from the link without opening it. A small thing, thought I would share, just in case.

The dat ein this thread has not changed… i did get last year’s wromg at 1st.
One has to be careful copying diyAudio thread URLs. They often have suffixes attached that take you to unexpected places.

Didn't know if I would be able to make it to diyFEST this year until about a week ago. Looking forward to riding with the other statesmen from south of the border.
I've got a new project in the works, involving a Celestion 6.5" coax. Hope to bring it along. Preliminary results look promising. And it doesn't sound icky to me either. 😉
