Maxon 110191 GB interest

Hey guys!

I'm thinking about making a GB for the turntable motor Maxon 110191. I would like to know if there would be more people interested in making a Group buy.

I'm located in Hungary, so postage in the EU wouldn't make problems with taxes.

Let me know if you're interested in buying one/multiple!

Hi!

I did not think about it, but that might seem as a great idea! the thing is that I think that an even smaller circuit would suffice instead of Mark Kelly's one.

I'll be working on making one in the next forthcoming days. I would like to keep it simple.

I have made a PCB for my motor driver circuit! I ordered a prototype sample pack from a local PCB manufacturer. I am willing to send 1-2 PCB for free for testing, you just have to pay the shipping.
I have no Maxon motor yet, so I'd like to ask the people willing to test the PCB to volunteer only if they have the 110191, it would be a great help for me.
I will be also making a BOM soon, so please be patient, I'm really into making this group buy properly..

Hi!

Thanks for the input!
My circuit is similar, but uses negative feedback to compensate the decreasing rpm caused by the increasing load.

I have read, that the DCX is better, but the 110191 is more affordable, it is a good all-rounder 🙂

I use this motor with a simple voltage regulator. The raw dc is bit more complicated as it incorporates a couple of chokes in addition to a large transformer and big caps.

FWIW (probably not much) a few years ago tried Mark Kelly's controller. Did not notice an audible improvement compared to the voltage regulator and more importantly - the addition of the controller did not make the huge dc supply redundant as i was hoping. Perhaps slow, long term drifts in speed do not bother me.

Anyone interested in the DCX22L, perhaps with graphite brushes? Apart from other improvements over the A-max, the DCX can take much higher radial loads without the bearings dying, which is a good thing for a belt driven turntable.

Price on Maxon's site is 200€ + VAT which is neither cheap, nor outrageous. Perhaps there will be a little discount if we buy 5. Willing to handle a GB if there is interest.
