I am looking for a special company for refurbishing this bass drivers with a very special diaphragm/cone material, which is no longer used on currently available drivers.
Unfortunately Spendor don't provide any service on this model due the age (too old, no spare parts available).
Images are here:
https://old-fidelity-forum.de/thread-14501.html (without dust cap)
and in the attachment (both with and without a dust cap).
Because the rubber surrounds (suspensions) themselves do not rot or crumble, I assume that in the event of an error, there are actually occur only two things:
1) Bonding between surround and cone is loosening (easy to solve)
2) damaged/burned voice coil (not easy to solve - extensive and laborious restoration/reconstruction is necessary because recone kits aren't available - therefore I am looking, if there are guys who can routinely do this.
Thanks for an advice.

The cone can be saved in these spendor drivers. Its a type of polypropylene with varying thickness, similar to the seas clear PP cone material. The only way to glue this material is with very aggressive contact adhesive. Thats why alot of these drivers have issues with bad surrounds ie. hardening up. There is also a 15mm back coating around the outer parameter of the cone, which is critical to the upper mid response. When this coating becomes hardened and discolored, its no longer doing its job. Thats why they start sounding rough in the mids as they get older. A professional speaker repair shop can save the cone and/or VC if the surround is the only problem. I use clear windshield sealee RTV for these as well as on some older Focal poly kevlar drivers at the surround parameter and cone backside.
