Hello
I have a KEH-M9300RDS, and I would like to attach an aux input. I have the service manual and the pinouts, but I found very little information about M-BUS protocol. I have to emulate in some way the CD Charger to enable the external audio inputs. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

If im not mistaken it uses a CAN protocol. I have a very informative paper. Let me find it and will share the link shortly.
OK lmk if you want to see the paper where the individual successfully added a diy mp3 to the mbus link. Multi disc changers seem kinda old to me with all the tracks that can be burned to a single cdr in mp3 format.

Yes, post the link please.
Yes, it's old, year 1992. There was no MP3 discs in those years.
I have a 4 channels digital oscilloscope, perhaps I can try to decode the signals and emulate the cd changer using a microcontroller.

AMR,
Im very sorry. Unfortunately this is a pinout for the pioneer IP-bus not M-bus and a multi cd emulator for a yammp3. I still included the link because maybe it will help you out some way. Or maybe the site owner can help you with the pioneer protocols.
Nevertheless here are the schematics for the emulator and power supply.

Hi everyone. I know this thread is old, but maybe someone here can help me.
I have a old Pioneer DEH-P835R, and I refuse to upgrade to a newerer h.u., I just love the way this old Pioneer looks and sound.
Anyway, I bought one of those Multidisc emulators, Yatour, which, despite its ultra-mega-chineese it works just fine.
But, it seems my headunit cant connect with this multidisc emulator via the IP-Bus socket. I know this h.u. shoud wotk with this emulator, but I cant make it work.
I think my IP-Bus socket is busted. Is there any way to test this IP-Bus? Any ideas?
Thanks a lot guys in advance!!!

Kinda lost because you said you refuse to make the switch to HU unit then say u know the HU unit should work... I though you were trying to stick with the DEH unit?
Well first id confirm with Yatour that it will work with a DEH unit. Then if I had a multi disc changer id see if it worked if it does then the signaling or protocols are clearly not being met. and the socket would have to be working. if you need an ip plug with flying leads to test the outputs I may have one laying around. Ill look. If I have if ill just give it to you. All I need is your addy and you pay postage. No big deal.

Thanks for your help Hifonics.
Yes, I refuse to switch to another headunit, I just love the way these old Pioneers looks like, and the sound too offcourse.
Well, I found the issue, and it was as stupid as it can be... the connector was not fully pluged. Yes yes, I feel as dumb as a brick. I didnot want to force the plug, but after pressing it a little bit more i heard a "click", and now everything works as it should.
This means I can play MP3s in my old Pioneer, what else should I ask for?
Well, I found in netherlands a brand new, never open, still in the original plastic DEQ-P800 dsp hide-away unit, for just 100 euro. I just cant wait till it arrives here.
So, my new setuo will be with the new DSP + the Yatour MP3!
Here are some pics of the old Pioneer working. BTW, the new display was restored by "sextaafondo". He replaced the oem EL panel with a LED backlight. The result was as bright as new.
The crazy thing is that as every forum, there are users from all over the world, thousands of miles away. Sextaafondo is from Argentina, he lives 200 miles away from me!
As soon as the new DEQ-P800 arrives, I will upload some pics 😉

Its a matter Of choice I guess. Never really cared for alot of external processing. Always seemed a gate to introduce noise. My choice from that era would have been a DEX-PIR. There were also some very nice premier units that weren't available to the US across the pond. Very nice units we never had the luxury to own without jumping through hoops. I ended up on the eclipse 5302 which I hope to bring some life back into as united radio authorized fujitsu decided for me that it wasn't worth 102 dollar repair though the deck cost me 600.00 dollars. At one time they offered a schematic to registered ESP owners for the deck but I've yet to re find one, Problem is a few buttons are flat and the output transistors are shot. It is a 5 volt preout. Should have got the Pine7909... For most of my car stereo days I was a sony man for the majority of it. When explode came out and it started showing up in wall mart high **** crutch-field etc. It seemed like the sony stuff started to look cheaply made. Haven't looked at that brand line in quite awhile. Same thing happened to the brand "hifonics". Im from the series 6 and 7 days. And will still own a colossus or a zeus from that era! I still have a thor and its been by my side for over 20 years still working.
Happy Listening

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Oh, the DEX-P1R, my unicorn. Always loved that model, but never could afford it.
My dad bought this Premier brand new in 1998-99, had it on a Blazer and took it out in 2003-2004, since then it was put away and stored untill now.
BTW, do you have any idea how to wire up the external DEQ-P800 dsp? I mean from the HU to the dsp itself. Is it with the IP-Bus calbe + 3 RCAs or just the IP-Cable? I cant find anywhere the original setup manual :s

I think pioneer has manual archives. Check the website. You now found another reason i hated the external pioneer stuff. When i installed the "DEH" AV pioner system the whole whop 5 tv's and keeping the factory phone and steering wheel controls buy aux inputting the factory system through the pioneer unit. There was probably 50 to 100 ft of various cabling all over the vehicle . A very cool install but A pita!
You keep throwing me off when u say HU because I thought u said u wont let go of the DEH for HU thats what you were initially concerned would it(emulator) work with your older deck am I wrong?
Btw this was the first tv install I had ever done. Funny you talk about money this guy was a judge plenty money and still owes me a balance on this job 15 year later. Maybe you can realize the entire climate control system was relocated and all tv has independent viewing and sound via headphones.
You can always finagle someone for high dollar audio

Exactly, maybe I was not totally clear, we bought this headunir brand new in 1998-99 and re installed it in my 96 Ford Ranger XLT.
I DONT WANT TO GET RID OF IT, as I dont like newerer Pioneer models, including touch screen (just personal preferences).
I like this older models due to its sober and simple design, I dont like the flashy buttons, chrome buttons and crazy lights.
All I can say about your pictures is wow! Do you do that for a living? That setup is awesome. Extremely nice and well though. My congratulations to you!
On Pioneer website, the DEQ-P800 manuals are not available, since this unit is very old. The only manual I could find is the users manual, but not the installation manual. Do you have any idea where can I download it?

About 29 years in car audio. But this would be poo compared to all the acrylic and fiberglass work of today. I can do those too but very rarely do people pay or understand the labor and messy nature and hazard of dealing with fiberglass and other composites. I had mastered a mobile com some 17 years ago but no one would invest in my idea now every cars got one. Just cant seem to win sometimes.. Have a few associates car audio guys may have heard of. Jay Lovelace Audio Acoustics Raleigh NC former SPL world champion. Hugh Cobb auto sound by Cobb Greesboro former sq champ and beta tester for Rockford Fosgate, NC. no longer there. Herb Holloway Creative acoustics Durham, N.C. , These were some guys in NC that knew stereo Richard Clark and Dave Nevone are another two from NC that have a pretty extensive resume in car audio. Met Richard at a few shows when he had a Cadillac that never quite curled....But he was a damn smart sound engineer. I still have 2 pairs of usd wave guides a rane ac23b and the alessis MEQ230 dual 30 band 3rd octave eq. Thats the era of car stereo I'm from. I guess you younger guys would call us old school bass heads. Class d was just coming out. MMats etc. I keep saying one day Ill come out of my shell and smash a few of the new guys but I can never find the time or ear to listen to all that loud mess these days. Ill probably do a very nice sq setup infinite baffle setup with 2 2241G's JBL's, include smart phone d pad operations.... window roll ups etc. Something novel but simple to have a sense of nostalgia and new school to show hey this stuff still sounds great your ears haven't changed . We didn't have RTA on phones back then for setting up things. RTA time cost some coin back then like a dyno pull. I still do audio by appointment only. I have a 30x33 ft shop on site so I pretty much take jobs as I choose. As soon as someone calls with a 60 amp alternator and 3000 watt rms amp I turn it away. Dont need the headache or loss of money . Only want to deal with those that understand what it really takes. If youre cool with your tag ratting and your highs sounding like snakes hissing you're not my kind of customer. Ghetto style bass 😱
If the unit is new it should include hook up instructions NO? Unless its come in a sealed box that has never been open its not new or do you mean new to you?
Start a new thread on it specifically post photos of cabling and unit and see if you get any hits. People may look over this this title for something else.Maybe once I see it again something will click.

Thanks a lot Hugh, it seems you have a little bit of exeperience on this subject, haha. Id love to see some other pictures of your work, that would be interesting.
The DEQ-P800 was sealed in its original box, the seller frm Netherlands opened it to show the item on eBay. He took a couple of pictures but all I can saw was the main unit, the backet, users manual, power and ground wire as well as the IP Bus wire, and that was all.
I have the users manual downloaded from the web, but it doesnt show or explain the connections.
BUT, theres always a but, in the headunit service manual (which I could find and download) at the end theres a complete connections schemme:
So, as far as I understand (Im an architect and not an electronics expert) the connection between the H.U. and the DSP would be via the 3 RCA cables and the IP-Bus cable...right?
That was all I could find, but I guess is enough.

Did you ever get the aux input to work ?
I just used a 2 into 1 rca plug and patched in to the rca input on the head unit. Then I think I put the CD to pause or cassette to pause and I could play via a wired interface from my earphone jack. Bit crude I know and playing digitally via the M-bus interface would be better but it worked.
