I have a pair of TDL RTL2 (bougth about 200 USD)and I wonder it is worth if I replace them by TDL RTL3 with cost about 450 USD. My room about 20m2 square. My amplifier is Rotel 1060.
I'm very appriciated for any advice.

I would do a response test first. Yours must be almost twenty years old and the tweeter may not be working properly
If your amp is a Rotel RA 1060:
CONTOUR Selector
Instead of conventional tone controls, the
RA-1060 has a front-panel CONTOUR control
which selects one of five available settings.
Each setting provides a fixed frequency contour
as follows:
OFF: the tone contour circuits are bypassed
to ensure the purest possible sound.
L-1: moderate increase in bass frequencies
(typically +3dB @ 100Hz).
L-2: more increase in bass frequencies (typically
+4dB @ 100Hz).
H: moderate increase in high frequencies
(+3dB @ 10kHz).
LH: combination of L-2 bass and H high frequency
increases.

Reviews from the time of the TDL RT speakers all point out that careful positioning from the wall behind is needed to get the best from them (Link to pdf review here: )..... though not stated in the 2 reviews I've read in the last 10 mins, I seem to remember reading 'back them' that distance could be as great as 1.1 meters.

davidrsb could well have hit the nail on the head though - the drive units could be needing 'forced retirement' 🙁

The RTL series tweeter was not very good or well integrated - it was the TDL "budget model". There is a bit of a middle hole and then boosted high treble. Ageing has probably made this even worse.
It used to be recommended to pad the tweeter down a little with a series resistor of a couple of Ohms. See Red Spade Audio: Fixing TDL RTL3 transmission line speakers
There are cheap capacitors in the crossover that may be failing by now too

I already set contour to LH but sometime the bass not enough with me. And I want the feeling the sound was full as I stand near by the speakers, I listen music at position 3 m away from speakers. So I hope if I replace the TDL2 by the TDL3, the sound will full at my listening position like that.
But as your recommended, modify the TDL2 is better, isn't it?
I also heard that Morel MTD30s is the good upgrade for the tweeter, but I cannot find it in Vietnam.

RTL 2 has more mid range response when compared with the 3's. it has a sweet upper mid range which makes it sound like its hooked into a tube amp when plugged into the right amp.
RTL# has more weight into the lower frequency line, does not compromise much on the mid and higher end, but you may feel the highs has to be pushed a bit hard for the toes to go kicking with the rhythm.
Sound stage is far better in the RTL3's when compared to the RTL2's.
I had the same dilemma wether to upgrade to the RTL3's. finally ended up in having both of them in my setup.
I'm sharing my experiences with the stock driver/crossover configuration of the speakers. there are many upgrades and tweaks listed all over the internet for both the models, I havnt tried them.
