SIEMENS E83F
What i can do with this tubes? (6689 - american type)
This is some data about it:

Do anybody know any schema with this tube?
Thanks!

Hello ,
the E83F was used in the legendary TFK V 76 microphone preamp , the E83F drives the output transformer via a capacitor and was loaded by a choke . This was often used in german studio amps .
The E83F was also used in measuring equipment like audio-frequenzy millivoltmeters and so on .
Regards , Alex .

You'll find on this forum a schematic of a preamp which includes e83f tubes, Mike who designed it called it Nina.Make a search and you'll probabbly find it.
I also built one and wonders everyday at the result.

E83F as Active Load
I first used it in my 300B amp as active load for a 6SL7. It fits this application
very well; moderate Gm of 9mA/V which is 3x tht of the paralleled 6SL7.
Current rating of 10mA on the anode. Fairly high Ri of 500kohms which is a
good thing for an active load. High quality, long life, good sound. and cheap!
Also used in Nina where again, it fits well, this time used with more total current
and less voltage. The Gm again fits well and the bias is about right.
The E83F used in simple pentode mode might make an excellent cathode
follower. Just a dropper resistor from B+ to grid 2, and a cap (sized for Z well
below the value of this resistor) from grid 2 to cathode.

Hi
The E83F can be used as a Constant Current Sink instead of a cathode resistor in an output stage.
Great bebefit and improvement of sound. It´s a fine replacement for a EF184 and does not take as much screengrid current as the EF184 does. So the power supply of the cirquit does not have to work that much.
