If I connect the G3 of the 6AS6 to cathode , this pentode can work fine for audio pre-amplification ?
Thanks, 😀

The spec sheet mentions this specifically: connect G3 to the cathode, and use as any other small signal pentode. Whether or not it works as a decent audio voltage amp remains to be seen.
Used in the Culture Vulture Stereo Distortion Unit. See description of sounds in the user manual.

You can make it into an electronic volume control if you connect G3 to a variable source of DC, like 0 to -18V or so. See the schematic below:
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I believe the 6AS6 is essentially a 6AK5/EF95 with a tighter pitch on g3. That would mean that you have to be careful about grid stoppers etc. as it is happy amplifying/oscillating at UHF.
I connected 6SA6 pin2 to pin7, to substitute 6ak5/403a/403b/5654/ef95. Obviously you can get good price on 6ak5 family already but as LittleDot and Yaqin amplifiers are getting popular, some expensive 6ak5 like WE403, Mullard/Siemens EF95 are getting a bit pricy. You still get same performance out of 6AS6 at about half price tag of 6ak5 in general.
