You did a wonderfull job.
I got a whole bunch of subminiature tubes. Most 6112, 5744, 5703 and 6832. Datasheets were easy to find.
Except for the 6832, I could not get any information.
I want to build an Aikido based preamp with some of these tubes.
Now I can figure out which tube to use.

Cool.. Glad I could help.. Should be the smallest Aikido ever. I have a fair selection of subminiature tubes and used some in a phono stage a few years ago. Make sure you test each and every one for noise before you use them - or use sockets so they can be easily replaced. Old TO-8 sockets for metal canned op-amps work well.

For 10 yaers ago, I worked as a radar technician for HAWK guided missiles systems.
These systems were aged and sold.
I could have bunch spare parts of the mini tubes, I was curious for this tubes. I have JAN - Philips, Rayteon and GE.
Now I want this tubes to give it a try.
The types I have are 5703 and 5744 singles triodes and 6021,6112 and 6832 dual triodes.
Which type do you prefer?

I built already a 6CG7 & 5687 aikido preamp and 6SN7 & 6N6P aikido headphone amp.
I did not find anyone who built an aikdo with submini tubes, this gives me a challenge.
It seems that Musical Fidelity uses mini tubes in their audio gear, but it is hard to find any technical details or schematics, so any advice which tube to use and what configuration is more than welcome !

All the ones you list are quite nice..Pretty much the cream of the sub-mini triode crop.. 🙂 I have used the 5703, 6021, and 5744 in my own designs, and have friends who have used the 6111 and 6112.. All quite nice. The mystery of course is the 6832, but I imagine it will be decent, and maybe very good.. FWIW Based on limited experience I think the 6021 and 6112 sound better than just about any garden variety 12AU7.. Just don't run them at very high voltages as they can get alarmingly noisy, probably due to the small geometries and short track lengths between electrodes on the mica insulators which may be contaminated by the getter flash process and provide very high resistance poor quality conductive paths (but not as high resistance as you might want) between the electrodes resulting in noise generated across the contaminated mica - crackling mostly, and very voltage dependent - slightly lowering the plate voltage can completely eliminate it in some cases. Staying below 200V where recommended will help. (Data sheet ratings)

Here is my miniature Aikido. I have build this a year ago and is working like a charm.

The GM70 in the left is just for fun. I use it in my poweramps.

mayby a good candidate for a BIG aikido :clown:

The tubes are Sylvania Gold Brand 6112 double triodes. Its all standard Aikido with RK adjusted for 0.8mA with a B+ of 180V.

It was just an experiment on a cold sunday afternoon. I do not juse it at this moment. Maybe I make a buffer for my CD slayer with it somtime.

Forget about the Headphone Amp. The Amp cannot source enough current. With the GM70 at 800V B+ in Aikido configuration You can.
Don't try this at home! For a stereo version you need almost 500Watts for the heaters alone.

I have quite a lot of tube books but I can not find anything about the jan 6832, Sorry.

I have ESL panels, So I NEED lots of power. I'am currently working on a parallel SE with 2 GM70 tubes. I always use PP and PPP Amps and I like to try SE so I have bought two SE OPT's.

But the tiny ones are kind of neat and fun to play with.

A setup of an aikido amp as driver for a SE penthode or triode looks like a graet idea😉
The aikido gives a direct and accuraat sound and together with its low output impedance it should be a perfect match with a hugh power tube like the GM70, or maybe KT88 or 807 parallel SE.

I thinks I will give it a try.

I can tell you from experience that the Akidio drives Kt-88's rather nicely. I used a schematic from the tubecad site and followed it pretty closely, I change a few non-critical cap values to what I had on hand. I didn't use mini tubes though just the usual 12AX7 and 12AU7's.

I'am using an Aikido monoboard with in the frontend a E88CC SQ goldpin as a gainstage. The output tube is a 6N6p. B+ is 325 volts and after careful tuning of the RK values I get 120volts pk-pk at 0.9% distortion.
After this board I have 2 GM70 tubes in Parallel SE configuration. The coupling capacitor is a russian FT-3 teflon capacitor.
I have never used this kind of capacitor and I'am not shure of i like it.

P.s. Of course this is not a miniature Amp.

This an older thread but....... I could use some help as well. I just got a dozen of these tubes given to me and would like to get some information on them. I like the idea of building a super small Aikido if someone has figured out the operating points that would be real helpful
