Hi
Has someone successfully rewired a Syrinx PU2 and can offer advise
I have had a quote of around 170 UK pounds
Is it best to leave it to the professionals or not
regards

quote for emphasis, johnny is the one you need to speak with.
KaDe,
My hats is off to you!
I love the sound of the PU2 and have one in a box for 15 years now, but haven't taken the steps to set it up because of the EXTREME hassle of getting all three planes of alignment correct with just one set of adjusting screws. A quick trip to madness I believe!
And you replace the wiring AND run a Decca to boot - You must be seriously crazy - and that's a compliment from me!

Thanks Allan,
all your words are so very very true........
But it´s worth the effort, take out your Syrinx and play it !
- if someone is familiar with the PU2 design pitfalls he should be able to replace the wiring as well -
The Decca was an adventure to me since it has been sitting in his box fo more than ten years.
I want to try a more decent sounding cart. in my PU2 now.

thanks Guys for your replies.
The quote I had was from Audio Origamy.
Looks now, like it would be money well spent.
The arm sits on an LP12 and use to have a Linn Asaka Cartridge.
The moving coil got damaged - stylus got caught with something.
So I will be looking at a new cartridge once the new wires are in place.

I also have a PU2 that I wanted to attempt a rewire. Can I use the existing wiring to "fish" the new wiring into the arm assembly until it comes out at the bottom of the arm pillar? (Like fishing a wire inside a wall)
