I dug out one of my old amps and remembered why I put it away in the first place:
I need the DIN power/control cord.
I think this is the part #:
Amp: Kenwood KAC-8020
Part # E30-1433-08
It's an 8-pin round connector (din), it is what runs up to the head unit (the input)
If I remember correctly, it also has the remote wire on it.
Any idea where I can get one? I found parts web sites, but most of them say 'discontinued'.
I could probably make my own cable, but I don't have the pin-out information either.
I hate to keep it moth-balled because I don't have the DIN cord.
Thanks,
H.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
i have the same problem. has no one else got an answer for you? there must be thousands of these old vintage (and might i add - quality) Kenwood amps kicking around people's basements.
if i knew the pin configuration, i'd go pick one up and make it myself.

Re: Kenwood DIN Pinout
Attached is the pinout used by Kenwood during the mid to late 1980's for many of their products. I believe it should be applicable to the KAC-8020.
While living in Germany during that period, I used several of these amps in bi-amped and tri-amped systems primarily due to the fact that they were available inexpensively at the Post Exchange. Actually, they're not too bad sounding amps given the vintage.
DIN connectors of this type are fairly widely available, but be aware there are two varients of the 8 pin version, each having a slightly different pin spacing.
I seem to remember having purchased some from Mouser a couple of years ago. You should be able to chose the correct one based on the catalog drawings.
Also try: http://www.universal-radio.com.
They list several Kenwood specific DIN connectors on their website.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hi. I haven't been on this forum in years!!! I have a KAC-8020 a KAC-5020, and a KGC-6040 EQ I won in contests from the company i worked for while installing car audio. All three are still going strong after 35 years! It's just the KAC-9020 I run my subs on finally lost one channel after all this time. I found your post here after about 2 hours of searching. Just wanted to thank you for posting the pin configuration!!!!! Jim.Re: Kenwood DIN Pinout
