-5 pts for full room pic; +420 pts for a rug that really ties the room together 😎
I needed the full room picture... it is a system with three racks. I didn't show the stack of solid state amps on the right hand side!
Don't I get more point for NO coffee table between couch and speakers? 🙂
Unless it's a man-cave, rack in the back for a higher Waf. It's about her rack, not yours.
(Pardon the coil on the floor, I'm building a sub in the dining room)

+15 pts for well-integrated cross-cut supports and visible quarter-sawn flecking - gorgeous!
+5 pts for being unable to choose between thick vs. thin cherry-tone furniture legs and so instead, using one of each
+5 pts for keeping me guessing whether top left black lines = power cord disarray, or an abstract sculpture; looks nifty either way
+5 / -5 for on-floor tv, depends on the day

Re: coffee tables
Wish I could penalize for them / reward for their absence.
But most are easy to move for a photo.
If this were a speaker thread, you’d totally have +100 pts for speakers taller than all other room features (Buddha sculpture wouldn’t count against that, as deities can’t be measured) 😉
+5 pts for rack shallower x taller than mostUnless it's a man-cave, rack in the back for a higher Waf. It's about her rack, not yours.

+5 pts for keeping crossovers out of reach

Wait a minute, I actually bought your line about WAF until “…building a sub in the dining room.”
Unless you mean a sandwich, -5 pts for inconsistency 😆😉
Thanks B. Too funny about the TV. I have absolutely no idea why the TV was on the floor.+5 pts for being unable to choose between thick vs. thin cherry-tone furniture legs and so instead, using one of each

Santa hats were positioned by my little son…-5 pts for mysterious lighting; +15 pts for multiple symmetrically arranged Santa hats
It's a big sandwich - 900 watts at 30hz inductively heated - that's what the coil is for!+5 pts for rack shallower x taller than most

That's my friend Dennis!
+5 pts more for good choice of finish, nice hidden joints, and… are they square convection holes for the amps? Three cheers for over-engineered shelves!
+15 pts for awesome metalwork
-5 pts for having to kill the wire clutter mystery to reveal said metalwork
Really like that circles-and-crescents bracket, too - it wasn’t very noticeable in your first pic. Did you make that bracket or find it? Great stuff either way!
Fantastic. Seasonal decorations integrated into the audio system is an excellent way to instill lifelong appreciation for both!Santa hats were positioned by my little son…
Definitely. Should make everyone feel very full! 😀It's a big sandwich - 900 watts at 30hz inductively heated - that's what the coil is for!
You a decent handyman? Or at least don’t give up easily? 😉Nice thread,
looking to build something for my living room that will accommodate amp switching from time to time, allow for hot tubes and class A amps , hide wires , easy to level, and keep wife happy. Am I doomed?
Bill
Either of those would mean not doomed.
Unless your wife wants floating glass shelves.
They could be a bit problematic for tubes and Class A’s 😛
One of my “old” (not DIY) racks was a meet-in-the-middle proposition for glass shelves and having to live without my tools:
