I barely eat cow, sheep, chiken or pork meat for 4...5 times in a year...but I eat fish, eggs and home made yogurt or sour milk...not exactly sure how you call in english the milk you let acidify for a week in a hot place. B12 is found in many animal products not just raw meat.
Since I am diabetic, I try to stay away from products with high sugar content. I was shocked to find that Coke Light or Coke Zero has no added sugar but still contains lots of carbs, which sort of defeates the purpose.Coca Cola uses corn syrup (liquid glucose) instead of sugar in the USA, as it is much cheaper.
Nobody forces you to drink cola and eat chocolates...but the entry of such products has be be kept track of...for personal safety.
Actually it is hard to find any drink without carbs (which is logical as the body needs it), except water.

"You're an achieved man when you made a house, a child and planted a tree" an old saying told us.
I did all of them except conceiving a child. I must be a failure.
I did neither of them...actually i did helped my father planting 20 trees which the local authorities cut a few years ago to make parking lots for cars...I did all of them except conceiving a child. I must be a failure.
Working with wood, particularly finishing wood -for me-, is therapeutic...
I've become quite good at refinishing wood, and it is indeed very rewarding. I can match color and everything.
Sanding is the key. Just enough, not too much. Most people skimp on the sanding.
I put two coats of polyurethane varnish down, then wet sand with 320 wet/dry, then put another coat down. I can't see the smooth finish too well, but I sure can feel the difference. I can feel when I've sanded just enough.
Wood bleach, wood sealer, I mix stains to match color; I wish I had developed this skill when I was younger.
It reduces the risk of heart diseases considerably. You do have to add B12 artificially and ensure you have a well-balanced vegan diet, vegan organizations can help you with that.
I radically changed my diet about a year ago. The doctor put me on a draconian diet and expressed skepticism that I would be able to stick to it. Both my doctors wanted to put a gastric sleeve in me, but I decided to try to follow their instructions. I too was skeptical that I could do it, but I did.
Not only did I lose almost 60 pounds (and counting), but my triglycerides and blood sugar were slashed by more than half. I lost ten inches on my waist. Four months ago my doctor said to me "You are no longer diabetic." I am also no longer in danger of sudden death. And about a month ago I was finally approved for surgery that I've needed for years, and am scheduled for December 5.
The list of what I eat is very short. No processed foods, no sugar, no breads, and the only "meat" I eat is egg whites. Boring but I am completely transformed. I walk at least six miles a day. When I started this I could hardly drag myself up a flight of stairs. Now I can spend the whole afternoon going up and down the ladder, which is pretty much how I spent my summer.
To grunf:
Do you know how to extract oil from olives in a primitive way? I have several olive trees and would like to try extracting some oil without equipment as in ancient times. Is it possible? When I crush some picked olives with a hard stone it is clear the result is oily, but how is the oil extracted and collected?

It is a ongoing story for some years with olives now, which can withstand droughts very good:This is not a very easy task in the Mediterranean karst, especially on a small island. This summer we also had water reductions for households in some regions, so it is a problem from that side as well.
My friend, who has an olive grove further in the continent and who has the possibility to bring water to it, has a good harvest, but it has questionable profitability for a long period.
For centuries, olives were grown only in the karst, among stones and with very little soil, the oil from such olive groves is of top quality, unlike the one from the plantations that we see on the shelves in our stores.

It's even worse: it is High Fructose Corn Sirup.Since I am diabetic, I try to stay away from products with high sugar content. I was shocked to find that Coke Light or Coke Zero has no added sugar but still contains lots of carbs, which sort of defeates the purpose.

The fructose is artificial produced (cheap), tasts a bit sweeter than glucose (what is used in your body to live), but is not processed or used but stored instead.
And it is stored with fat into your body fat, to be burned only in case you do a daily marathon.
More about this here, as a starter:
Look at how fat Americans are. This is why. The fructose is metabolized differently than other sugars.
"And it is stored with fat into your body fat, to be burned only in case you do a daily marathon" That's exactly what I had to do to lose the weight. I couldn't run at first. I could hardly walk two miles. But I walk and/or jog every day, 3 miles minimum. This is why people get liposuction. You can't diet this fat off. It is what cosmetic surgeons call "stubborn fat."
I consider it poison to my body. Chemistry doesn't lie. The change in my biometrics from a year ago can't be denied. Triglicerides reduced 60%. Blood sugar reduced 55%. BMI from 40% to 26%. All this in one year.

Our grandfather, grandmother and those before them drank water, coffee and tea. They ate simple fresh vegetables, some meat (not every day) and potatoes. Not much wrong with that.Actually it is hard to find any drink without carbs (which is logical as the body needs it), except water.

Now imagine eating vegan processed food blocks made in a factory and a cola to flush it away 🙂
We should get some real strength back : https://www.cargill.com/food-bev/emea/alcohol/96-percent-alcohol-fortior
I am gluten intolerant although not to the extent of requiring emergency hospitalisation if I accidentally take it. It causes me continuous abdominal pains, trapped intestinal gas with accompanying very painful bloating, stubborn constipation, skin rash and severe scalp itching. It also causes lower leg hyperpigmentation and corneal irritation. To put it as plainly as it is, gluten free flour compared with normal wheat flour is a kitchen horror! I have been trying and experimenting for months to create a simple biscuit recipe which is reasonably cheap to make and does not cause me to become like a large barrel. Till now, the results are not very good, although I have developed a recipe which might get a passmark. To make things worse, last Christmas, I had a food poisoning from an item containing milk. This caused me to develop a full intolerance to milk which further exacerbates the situation.
Gluten and milk might be bad, but not being able to take them without severe abdominal consequences is worse. I dare say, it is not food which is bad, but the lack of moderation and a constant vigilance on one's weight.

So let’s buy some op-amps instead of sugared soda - while you still can. It is clear that we will ALWAYS be able to find food/drink laced with high fructose corn syrup. But when your favorite op amp is NLA because the market has decided to drop them in favor of something else - you just might not be able to get any more. You can’t diet them back either - and a daily marathon might help the frustration, but doesn't actually help the supply problem.
You have Celiac disease and also lactose intolerance?
Try ragi, quinoa, other grains for gluten intolerance.
Look for grains which are not grass based, or see if you can get African grains such as pearl millet.
There are coarse grains other than wheat which are consumed in India, look them up, find out what is sold in Malta, and check if they can be useful to you.
Soya flour is available, no idea if it will suit you.
Yogurt may be tried, along with soy milk, as alternate to milk.
Yogurt can be consumed by some people with lactose issues, as there are bacteria in it, useful for digestion.
YMMV, discuss this with a doctor if you feel it is needed.

My intolerance to gluten is not as severe as in Celiac Disease, but it still causes debilitating symptoms if it is ignored. I am using a blend of four different grains. If I remember well, they are rice, quinoa, potatoe and buckwheat. Although it is a good blend, gluten free flour is still very inferior compared with wheat based flour. The physical properties of the flours are completely different making it a nightmare to achieve good cooking results. I tried to use Xanthan gum which is a fermented sugar from corn, but the result was rubbery cookies which contained too much hidden water making it difficult to cook properly. This is because adding Xanthan gum to gluten free flour results in a flour and water mixture with a huge affininty to water without any signs that the water content might be excessive.
Don't tell me anything, it is simply a nightmare, and many online recipes are too expensive moneywise and too expensive energywise. To bind the gluten free particles together, some even suggest to use liquid sweeteners, which obviously, contain huge amounts of energy. Making such recipes on a regular basis result in overweight and heart issues.

Sorry to intrude or rub salt on your wound, but try buckwheat and quinoa only separately, or together.
If available, go for coarse ground flour which has not been sieved, so the finer particles are also part of the flour.
Potato and rice are fond of water, and starchy.
PM me if you wish, I will try to help reduce your health issues, no offense intended.

No Soylent Green for us!
I too lost ~60 lbs last year, but I do need to walk more. I cut down my drinking big time, only a bit of good wine or maybe one IPA and then some good sherry ( Palo Cortado or Manzanilla) with the post dinner cigar ( where I do lots of thought experiments in my head and solve the World ). Drinking red wine in is my genes, sorry!
Blood sugar went way down, I still have it around 100 but my A1C is just over 5! ;-)
Working from home has its benefits... for one thing I do use a lot more fresh veggies: greens, salads... and we grow tomatoes and goya ( Okinawan bitter melon ). Managing our diet better has definitely increased the QUALITY of our meals.
