I also liked the silmics, but they are not as clear and are sounding a little darker, but lovely. Maybe you give them a try first, maybe they are ok for you.
For the Silmic, these are the RFS line from ELNA right ?I also liked the silmics, but they are not as clear and are sounding a little darker, but lovely. Maybe you give them a try first, maybe they are ok for you.
Ordered a bunch of these flat cables, as these are ruined after pulling in and out several times. Which was to be expected ofcourse..
Where did you get those? I suppose they are available in different lenghts? The original ones are a bit too short (imo).
Please try a different PSU. The amp sounding more "mature" (more AB class) was exactly the impression I got when I went for the Meanwell RPS-400-24@26VMy guess is this a problem of the end-stage. I still miss the mid frequencies.... This did not change by changing the caps and opamps of the pre-stage.
@daniboun - which unit has clicking? The "first" picture shows the PSU with the yellow relay on the right, but the second picture shows it on the left? Mine has the yellow relay. I just bought a unit but as soon as I hooked up my LRS speakers and started playing music, I hear the PSU relay constantly clicking :-( Is this easily fixed by Sabaj/will they send me a replacement board or requires shipping back to China which means I'll just return for a refund.
Hi, not daniboun but it is your unit that is clicking regardless of relay color. I would contact the seller.
Hi jean-paul - I did contact the seller. He has offered to take it back but he has no other ones and since these are out of production hard to find new anywhere else. I got this for $150 and really like the functionality so am looking for anyway to have this upgraded to the new PSU. From what I've read it looks like the new A20a-2022 version has a different Infineon chip that seems to be not quite as good sound wise and with a lower wattage PSU (I need all I can get for the Magnepan LRS'). Same for the SMSL DA-9 and AO200 amp alternatives (I need an amp with balanced-inputs) and unfortunately my budget is limited to $250? Thanks JP/all for any guidance.
So I have to make a decision by end of today on either returning this unit or repairing this unit by 1) replacing the clicking relay (if it is that simple of a fix and a noob can do it), or 2) replace the whole power supply inside the amp with (2a) the same but newer Mornsun LOF350-20B24 PSU board, or (2b) someone here recommends a different PSU board that fits in this amp case. I sent an email to Sabaj over the weekend, but no response from them... I found the Mornsun PSU from DigiKey for $87 but not sure how to confirm it is a newer/fixed unit and now I'm pushing close to $250 which is more than the original list price.
Any suggestions or guidance or other options would be most appreciated!
Cheers - David

So I've made a decision to keep this A20a amp and either replace the power supply, or fix the one that is in there. Mornsun has responded back to me and they seem great to work with. Very disappointed in Sabaj who have not replied to my email inquiry... OK, does anybody know exactly what part/relay needs to be replaced and is it doable by an inexperienced person and if so any part number suggestions? Thanks.
Better late then never, I modded the A20a (v2) as well. Mine came equipped with OPA1678 and swapped them for OPA1656. Hadn't I ordered the parts a year ago already, I would have used the OPA2156 instead. What else? Like suggested here I swapped the 10 caps for Silmic II (35V version) and swapped both caps near the NJM chip for Nichicon KZ (220uF, 50V). I use a standard Schaffner netfilter. I can confirm improvements in line with already described before; kind of highend-ish sounding.
I would like instructions to disassemble the sabaj a20a 2022 box. Maybe I'm forgetting a few screws.
Are you referring to the "flat" silver model? Take off the feet - there are screws underneath.I would like instructions to disassemble the sabaj a20a 2022 box. Maybe I'm forgetting a few screws.
Thank you . Yes ..silver . I took off the feet and took out the 4 screws underneath. But then I don't know what else ..
@Andreani Gianluca
Please screw the screws back in.
There is a hole under each foot through which you can use a longer Allen key to remove the 4 screws from the lid. The lid may be very difficult to remove.
