I've seen so many forums come/go/change that nothing really fazes me much anymore. In a few months most won't even remember what it looked like before. Do what you gotta do to try to keep the forum up to date and I'll adapt as always.
Being increasingly 'grumpy' as I am 80 'old'...and use a 27" iMac... I have to say that - having sorted out the theme options - the new site is truly excellent. The only exception so far is that I cannot get into the 'shop', but am confident that that will soon be possible.Oh for sure, I just call "grumpy" the members who jump on saying how awful it is without actually trying any of the settings or even asking where they might be. It's like a default "It's new - hate it" mode. 😛 But we expected that. For sure there will be many tweaks and improvements, not everything is ready and we need to know what you think could be better. But hating it without even using it is silly.
Congratulations everyone who made this change. OH YES the search function is a big improvement.

Worthe noting that that format did not work on the old forum either (not properly anyway). The post number is imbeded before the ,html to work properly.syntax of old link: https ://www.diyaudio.com/forums/subwoofers/119854-hornresp-1256.html#post6860617

I was born a grumpy old man! 😀You mean that the grumpy old men don't like it? Is that a surprise?
+1. Went to use that feature, seems MIA.1) How do I search within a thread?

So, along with the upgrade, moderators have been promoted to administrators?
I like the additional smilies. 🤗🏆🚲💡❤️...

Instead of Sticky Threads and the new category for "Normal Threads," can you rename the Normal Threads to something along the lines of:
Threads Not Worthy To Be Brought To Your Immediate Attention
That would be such an improvement,
Threads Not Worthy To Be Brought To Your Immediate Attention
That would be such an improvement,
Even switching to "Classical" theme, the forum opening page and main forum pages remains "light" (with only minimal changing).
BTW "classical" is better than eye pain "light" or "dark".

How do I do 2 things that I used to do on the old diyAudio Forum?
1. Go to my 'Subscribed' Posts?
I do not see a click for Subscribed Posts
2. Go to Tubes/Valves Posts?
I can see Amplifiers, click on that, then click on Tubes. I do not see the filtered displayed posts, instead I see unfiltered posts. Then I click on Save, and nothing happens.
Thanks!
I am excited to be able to use this new good looking Forum software.
PS I do not see my private forum emails either.

I don't see any way to modify the font size in the preferences. BTW, I don't want an even larger size: I want something smaller, denser, to see more things at once (threads) on my screen.Have you tried setting the font size to extra large, under preferences?
I don't understand why the look needs to be the same for all devices: the forum software knows which flavor of browser/GUI you are using, and should automatically adapt the display to what the user uses (at least, that was the case when I was in the business, ~10years ago, maybe the technology has regressed since then).
Of course, the software cannot support very old or very rare interfaces, but it should be able to cope with the most common options. Half a dozen would already be sufficient to cover >90% of the situations
New layout of 'my' main page - which is 'Solid State' amplifiers is much less dense than before.
With the old UI I was able to scan the content, find new posts I'm interested in, much faster.
Avatars on the left hand side are too big and distracting.
When I see that a thread has a new post, usually I click on the little "123" link that points to the LAST page of the thread.
These links with 'last page number', are way to small, comparing to the rest of the content.
These links are the MOST clicked links on the thread list page (at least for me), and I would prefer them being bigger.
Or perhaps click on the thread title, should default to the last page of the thread, instead of the 1st one.
(update: it actually does go to the last page, so that's good!!).
(update2: actually sometimes it goes to the last page, sometimes it doesn't. confusing. this bahavior should be consistent).
Once left-side avatars are smaller, also spacing around Thread titles could be lower, to increase the density.
These are just 'opinions', everybody has different ones, especially regarding the esthetics.
I'm assuming that new UI handles posting/attaching/editing better than before, but I haven't tried it yet.
When posting (as I type right now), I see that the default font in the 'new post' textbox, is way to small.
Overall, I think this forum looks much better than majority of other forums on the net, my remarks here are really just small details..

I really miss possibility to make Sub Category in "Watched Threads".
Was very useful option! Hope, not only for my person 😎

LOL, yeah we realized when we emailed every member that some people would still not see their emails in time, but we figured they’d notice eventually. Exploding bookmark was not on my list of possible first encounters. There’ll be a couple of weeks of settling down still. ThanksAlways nice to find out about the change when your old bookmark blows up!
Loving the new platform – well done! So far my only request would be a way to jump to specific pages in the thread (mainly the last) from mobile. Attached screenshot to illustrate what I mean (and apologies if this is redundant feedback)

Line array with 21 drivers... so single driver might not be so good. I suppose the name should be in the context of a usable system component i.e. a "speaker". Wideband is a name for a driver and not a speaker. "Single Driver" forces line buildrs to post in Multi Way.Wideband/Single Driver.

One Way, is what I would still suggest as the most logical name and if someone is uncertain and looks at the Forum structure, it will be a clear guide to end up in the right place.
