My experience was that the DHL shipment (received, thank you!) was shipped DDP (delivered duty paid), but the Fedex shipment (currently taking a breather in France) was assessed for duties.
US customers: You might be charged duty on chassis products if the total value of your chassis products order is over USD200. The vfet chassis is $259 so expect to pay duty at a modest rate of 2.9%, plus a $7 "deliver now, pay later" processing fee.
EU VAT region countries: You won't pay any duty, but you will have to pay VAT.
Australia: Keep orders under AUD1,000, as all orders under AUD1,000 are tax free
For more info, please visit the store's chassis information page

not surprising
we can expect few more and still be proud that Greedy Boyz as group are having less idiots than general population

Still, this is disappointing…
I was wondering how long it would take for this to happen, it is quite disappointing.
Will there be a Scarlet Letter cast upon the member/seller?

I like that quote: less idiots than general population! Maybe that’s good enough! 🙂1/180

Still, my mind would like to boycott those jerks that prevent a genuine DIYer from having the amp in favor of a quick buck.
Hope they get bid $499 and they need to loose money shipping the thing.
😡
Rafa.
I hope we aren't cancelling anyone on this forum.
We don't know their circumstance, so I say don't judge.

Well, we could ask actual pictures and not the ones provided by the store / 6L6, and check the chassis number. Does the store know who got which chassis? At least we could point a finger, for whatever that’s worth.I was wondering how long it would take for this to happen, it is quite disappointing.

I have another point of view.
It can happen that the sound of the VFET doesn´t fit to a setup.
It´s a good amp but not the best ever.
Should the owner then have to put it in a cabinet/showcase ...?
Kind regards
Andreas

Maybe somebody would post a picture of a whole system where the vFet amp is the main stereo component.
Re 1472: I think that’s perfectly reasonable, so long as the ‘seller’ doesn’t take advantage of the generosity of the store and Nelson regarding the cost. If they want to sell it for the price they paid, then by all means. Profiteering should be off limits, in other words.

If they were going to sell it for the price they paid then why pay for it and not roll it back,?? no, not buying it.
Do I think we should go all cancel on them...? Hell no, there's enough of that, crap now. I can still say it chaps my rear as I'm sure it does many others. I also think it would be counter productive to call them out by name (here) as that amounts to a cancel.
I voiced my thoughts, and don't think it should go any further than that, if it does, that should be up to Pop & those that worked out the deal.
I refuse to enter the cancel culture....

In the example Andreas gave, they would’ve had to listen to the amp to determine it didn’t ‘fit in their system’. Rolling it back into the lottery doesn’t work in that example.
@Cody
"I won the right to buy this kit and have redeemed the fee.
Since I have more amplifiers than what is in use, and several projects on an ongoing basis, I choose to refrain from this if I accept bids.
In the event of a sale, the kit and cabinet will be sent on to the buyer in a new, unopened condition."
Also, even if built, the honorable thing, imo, would be to come back here and offer it at cost to someone from the original buy. He could have just had Jason roll the dice again and pull like 5 names, go through them 1-5 and offer it to each until someone said yes. I would bet it wouldn't make it past 1. 🙂
Now I'm done. 😉

Oh yeah, that is pretty shitty.
*edit* yeah, what you mentioned in your edit would certainly be an 'honorable' way of doing it. I just feel like the bare minimum standard is no profiteering. Meaning – if somebody flips one for profit, there should be consequences.

I think guidelines similar to those at Head-Fi could be useful here:
"Commercial sales and "Flipping"
The classifieds are for personal, non-commercial non-profit sales.
Buying and selling items on the forums for the express purpose of making a profit is not allowed. Buying an item to immediately resell at a profit is known as "flipping." People found to be using the forums or private messaging system for this purpose may have their account banned. Likewise, DIY items cannot be sold at greater than the cost of parts (and shipping), as doing so would make the DIY'er a Member of the Trade and subject to the rules as stated in the Terms of Service.
However, items purchased some months or years prior to the sale for private use, the market value for which has changed, can be sold at their current market value. Examples of this would be the AKG K1000, vintage Grados such as the HP-1000/HP-2, the Stax Omega I, Sony R-10 and Qualia 010. We ask that you please contact a moderator before posting these listings to make sure everything is in order."
