How many channels can I stuff in this bad boy if I put all of the power supplies for them in a separate chassis? I'm looking for a 5-channel F6 chassis.
See pics earlier in the thread for a 5-ch Honey Badger in a chassis with similar dimensions. Theirs included the PSU, and didn't have external heatsinks, so it seems doable in terms of space. We want pics when it's done! 🙂
Definitely. I was only answering in terms of space. Fans / other cooling, choice of passive cooling, how to lay out etc. etc. will be other determining factors. 😀
It's gonna depend on bias points etc
There once was a dude named Matthias
who liked him some really big bias.
So he cranked at the pot
till it ran really hot,
And then pumped up his jams in defiance.
5 channels is certainly doable.
You would probably need to buy one more heatsink and install it internally and a fan.

You would probably need to mount them above and below each other on each side.
That would be 4 channels.
Then maybe a 3U x 300mm heatsink mounted internally.
Or just copy the 5 channel honebadger setup. You will need fans.

We did pilot holes to mount rca and binding posts.
I used the cardas binding post spacings for the pilot holes.
If people wanted to make a definite choice as a group we could do the back panel to mount everything without drilling out pilot holes etc.

The iec has a proper cut out so does the XLR connector.
It's just the rca and binding posts that have the pilot holes
There is a back panel image around somewhere in the last 10 or so pages.

Looks like it’s post #399. Is there a way I can get the DXF or DWG file? Ill be using cardas for the RCAs and binding posts as well. Think ill be able to get the dimensions in and have them done at the shop
It doesn't have the mounting holes for the back panel onto the heatsink.
Gianluca was going to add them, so I would need to put those on too before giving the dxf.
I don't currently have those drawing specs from Gianluca.

It won't be too much trouble for me to do a complete back panel with all the complete cardas cutouts + panel mounting holes.
So I will wait on Gianluca to provide the details for the mounting holes

Do you have the diameter of the barrel of the cardas xlr?
It's not mentioned on the drawing but it says neutrik compatible so I used their drawing specs but it's best to be sure if you know it.
