I have a meeting to attend this evening, so not much celebration on my part today.

Anyone up for a virtual get-together this weekend?
Do we all bring separate 4-hour playlists? :D

Edit:
Just pasting the relevant info up top here so it's easy to see :)

I looked for an article on the history of diyaudio.com, but to no avail.

After 20 years, could it be the apposite time for the founders to write one?

Or perhaps the history is already available and I just need to be pointed in the right direction?

Not sure about the history thing, it's a lot to cover if you're looking to get some snippets of all the stuff happening here.

Anyway, I was sort of thinking one of the better options would be to do a Zoom meeting, what would be a good time?

Using Zoom is fairly easy if there's a lot of people joining, if it's just a few then I guess it's a toss up between skype, whatsapp and stuff like that. Zoom is very nice though, and it allows for one or several hosts to have some modicum of control.

If we go for Zoom it could be nice for people to sign up for "airtime" to share their music lists for all to enjoy, and there's a chat function for the other participants.

Or are there any other suggestions?

Time? 18:00 NORWEGIAN standard time on saturday 10th? :D

I'll look into it if people are interested :)

Edit:
I'll look through the paid plans to see what can work for this scenario, the free accounts have some limitations on meeting length and participants. Only the hosts need a fancy account, the other participants don't have to worry about that stuff.

I take it you want an open meeting?

Wondering if anyone wants to have DJ duty, or if we should go about it in a more democratic manner with a "2 tunes each" rotation and optional show&tell on a strictly volunteer basis.

I will probably be busy keeping things running somewhat half-decent & topping up my glass :D

Don't want to be the "ultimate dictator" but will act to govern the meeting to the best of my ability if it's needed, hoping someone wants to volunteer as co-host so we can share the load a bit.

Not sure if I should throw out invites or not, with my somewhat limited account it's not exactly endless amount of capacity at 100 people, at the same time I do hope to max it out with people sharing positive vibes and dry jokes (the more dry the better IMO). :D

As you noted, the TimeAndDate 3-column display does not copy conveniently.

FWIW: I used a text editor with Column Mode. You can slice vertical slabs, not just horizontal lines. I've used UltraEdit for decades, but there are others.

Oh, sorry about that Tony, I was thinking it was a smaller difference than that. :(

Well... I'll be really happy to see any of you pop in either way. Sort of tricky to pick a good time when we're a truly global lot.

Edit:
So I take it noone is sticking their head out to help with the co-host thing?
