Shanti Dual LPS 5V/3A , 5V/1.5A

I cannot resist . "And then putting blame on these people who simply do not accept such a BS." Twisted logic. You designate yourself as the victim , and I call you as a bully "In the heated slew-rate/transient response discussion I brought up. I said that these parameters need to be measured and belong into a datasheet. Your response: It's good enough. Trust me." You want the data . Fortunately what you want is not relevant to our industry and its not a "commandment " to me. Further you seemed to shut down after I asked you to show the same data of Sbooster and IFI . They don't provide it...no one is . (except overpriced lab supply's) Another example of SC looking for problems when there is none . "Shanti powerdown issue. First it was a non-issue to you." Its still not an issue , never was an issue . Like the slew rate..:) "I said it takes forever until the PI LEDs turn off with Shanti. And I said. Don't pull the SD-card during that phase! You might get your card corrupted. Yes you could pull the uUSB cable. Great solution!" Bad solution you are right , but , standard in the industry. I can tell you (from en engineering point of view) that a switch on DC cables will have the same noise as disconnecting the uUSB cables.. I also remind you that you stated Shanti will " torture" other(digital) boards . Do you understand how LDOs or DC convertor work ? Your statement is false. You are en engineer , thats cool , but that does not make you an expert on electronics . "Again twist and turns. All starting by trying to shut me down by claiming a "non-issue"" "Sorry Ioan. I have better things to do then this." Soundcheck , I never had a major disagreements on the forums . Can you say the same ? Does it happen often that people find you rude ? From my part , I don't want any longer your "help" .

Wish you the best , good luck and enjoy the music.

Moving on.

Still, wouldn't a simple on/off switch on the DC side solve / reduce the problem and be cheap to implement in the next series - and a short note explaining the problem and the correct way to turn off / disconnect the psu be the preliminary solution for people owning the current version?

Not a good solution in my view. All switches for signal or DC reduce sound quality.
@cdsgames: Please keep or enable the lowest possible impedance path from Shanti to the devices.
Thanks

Matt

Hello,

Since this thread is related to USBridge Signature, I have a question about current version of USBridge + SParky ;-) Will there be updates and new versions of DietPi for current Sparky + USBridge? Will it be still developed for "old platform"?

Will the USBridge Signature support Wake on LAN (WoL)? It would be great to be able to turn on the device from app on your smartphone?

And regarding turning on and off the device... Is it possible to do it with IR port on USBridge Allo Sparky USBridge with Diet Pi- power ON / OFF by IR remote (irplus app)? ? This thread seems to be unanswered for some time...

Cheers,
Przemek

Yeah, I can imagine it's another step towards better sound, however I bought "old" USBridge recently and would like to enjoy it for some time before next upgrade ;-)

How much power will USBridge Signature consume? Will I be able to reuse my current PSU 5V / 3A ?

As far as I've read this thread, there will be one USB type-C DC connector, right?

Cheers,
Przemek

I'm loving the Shanti powering my Digione Signature. If this came with 5.5 x 2.5 output jacks instead of the fixed DC cables - it would be perfect and i would buy another one in a heartbeat. I would be happy to pay more for that feature and the flexibility that comes with being able to tailor the cable length without having to use adapters.

I would vote for Aviation GX12-2 or GX16-2 output connectors instead of the fixed DC cables.

First thx you for all the kind words.

We will take in consideration the advice for a connector . We will study and see if its feasible .

Yes one connector type C (usbridge)
Casing in alu but you can see it better on the pics posted .
SFP seems like a good solution . However , any chain is as strong as the weakest link . CPU , Ethernet , USB hub , clocks they all have to be low noise. Usbridge has over 20 LDOs .

Further on USBridge Sig , we are cleaning each incoming Gnd . If you ask me , I think that new USbridge will be equal with the best (or better )

This is based on what I see on the scope as far as noise output and THD+N of the DACs attached to it .

At last ,old USBridge was still using a DC/DC convertor for CPU, new one has only LDOs (no switching whatsoever)

We never seen dropouts on the old USBridge , can you tell me if you used wired or wifi ? What samples rate ?

One last advantage on the new Usbridge Sig. The fact that we are using the RPI compute module , gives us access to the latest kernel way ahead of any competitors .

Of course , do not forget the financial aspect.I think that competitors pricing is from 600 to 1800$ . Usbridge Sig is in a class by itself.

Thank you for your detailed explanations cdsgames.

Im very pumped at the idea and looking forward to signature version. Thinking of all the posibilities including ethernet which is very sensitive to digital audio. Everything that mattered should be well covered.

I have had excellent result with usbridge itself, soundwise. Very happy, recomend to friends about allo.

I had no problem with ifi dac. But when i using with xmos based dac, it would dropped it signal, dietpi just lost in the list and i had to do a restart. Im using wired. Bubble upnp. Dietpi. Usbridge as a dlna renderer. Loud pop when music start first. And a small wheeze when i change between tidal and home music server.
